Timberdoodle's review
Winter at Valley Forge

In the late 1700s, American colonists were unhappy with Great Britain's rule. Britain controlled the colonies' taxes and trade with other countries. Britain also told the colonists where they could and could not settle. Some colonists began to gather weapons for a possible rebellion. Great Britain decided to take the weapons and arrest the rebels. The Battles of Lexington and Concord resulted on April 19, 1775. By December 1777, the troops under General George Washington were tired, cold and dangerously low on supplies. In dramatic, graphic novel format, this book tells about the cold, and for many, fatal winter at Valley Forge. Learn about the desperate conditions and what the soldiers endured that frightful winter.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! February 18, 2010

This is the first one we bought our son.   He was not much of a reader...too boring.  So we bought this book because he loves history - and wars.  He couldn't put it down!  Since then, every birthday and Christmas he gets more.  They are interesting and very colorful.  He was able to learn something and he really enjoyed it.  We continue adding to our library and I am so excited to see that Timberdoodle keeps adding books!
