Artist-Quality Pencils
This set includes thirty-six vibrant colors with a specially-formulated, strong and durable lead. Its point won't easily snap under pressure and its colors won't smear when wet. This set is best for the older child interested in detailed work. The Faber-Castell Fish Sharpener is included with this set!

More Information
Why use colored pencils? Colored pencils are convenient, easy to transport, and practical to work with anywhere. Colored pencils will allow you lots of control so that it is easy to keep your lines clean and precise. Unlike painting, your child can work all day with the vibrant colors of colored pencils without any of the mess.

If you grew up with the same colored pencils I grew up with you may be thinking, "I don't remember colored pencils having particularly vivid pigments." Don't let thoughts of the typical school-quality colored pencils influence you. Those inexpensive pencils are of poor quality with hard, gritty leads. They will not only waste your money, but also your child's time and effort.

Professionals Agree: Prismacolor Is the Best!
Using top-flight colored pencils is a lot like painting with watercolors. Because the pigment is somewhat transparent, the hue of one pencil applied over another will combine visually to create a new hue. Such complex compositions are pleasing to the eye. On the other hand, unmixed colors often convey rawness and lack of subtlety. So where does a mom with little art background go to find a high-quality colored pencil? As with all our products, the first step was research. No matter where we turned, resource books, art courses, artists, even sales representatives for competing manufacturers, the recommendations were all the same: Prismacolor.

my daughter loves them February 4, 2015

I got these colored pencils for my daughters 7th birthday. She loves to color and does a wonderful job. She was so excited that these help her to do an even neater coloring job then her crayons. Plus the addition of the pencil sharpener made it even nicer. I highly recommend them!

Always the Best May 6, 2014

I bought this pack of PrismaColor colored pencils for my daughters to use in their artwork, which they take very seriously. I've had PrismaColor sets previous to this, and they have always been the best. I have no complaints, and the girls adore their special art supplies.

Perfect Complement for the original Prismacolors November 8, 2010
    Reviewer: Christina
We are loving the Prismacolor Premier Verithin pencils!  We have treasured the original Prismacolor Premier pencils for years because they color and blend so beautifully.  The Verithin pencils are very different, and are the perfect complement for the originals!  The leads are hard and thin, which make them ideal for drawing, outlining, and fine detail work.  The colors are bold, vibrant, and smooth.   It has been nice to be able to outline with sharp, crisp lines before coloring in with the originals.  I highly recommend these for any artistic child.

A good addition to the PrismaColor line November 1, 2010
Reviewer: Misty Marr from Buckeye, AZ United States
I really like these PrismaColor Verithin pencils.  These are NOT the same as the premier pencils - the lead is "very thin," hence the name Verithin.  These are not so much for coloring, but for drawing and more fine detailing.  These are cheaper than the regular PrismaColor, but they do have the same boldness of color and smoothness that the premier has.  These are definitely a great addition to the Prismacolor line!

I don't really like having to sharpen all the pencils before I can use them, and the box isn't very great, either.  I can tell that it will be beat up quickly, and you practically have to take it apart and put it back together to use it easel style. And then repeat the process to close it back up. But I will still give it 5 stars because the pencils are great, and that is really what you are paying for.
