Timberdoodle's review

Playfoam
It is back! Award-winning Educational Insights Playfoam is a perfect first sculpting material for young children, not only because of what it will do, but more importantly to busy homeschooling moms, what it won’t do. Playfoam is a very lightweight colorful substance that sticks to itself but not to your child, your carpet, or your couch. Non-toxic; non-allergenic; and gluten-, latex-, and phthalate-free, Educational Insights Playfoam is one of the safest modeling compounds you can place in the hands of your child. And the tiny, sticky-foam beads never dry out, so there’s no need to panic if it is forgotten on a windowsill for a few days.

Amazingly soft Playfoam can be stretched, molded, kneaded, and shaped again and again by even the smallest of hands. Encouraging open-ended play, the unique texture of Playfoam strengthens finger muscles so vital for your child's developing prewriting skills. Unlike other modeling compounds, Playfoam can be played with in a car seat, on a plane, or at a restaurant with no negative ramifications (while the manufacturer’s disclaimer states that Playfoam may transfer color stain to fabric and plastic, we at Timberdoodle have never experienced that). Shape it, cut it with scissors or a plastic knife, the possibilities are endless. Each palm-sized pod contains a generous fistful of Playfoam. Educational Insights Playfoam comes in many happy colors, allow us to choose one for you.

  • Non-toxic and non-allergenic
  • Gluten-, latex-, and phthalate-free
  • Never dries out
  • Easy to clean up

Love the Playfoam! February 28, 2017
Reviewer: Jenna C from College Place, WA United States
My kids loved the playfoam!  I like that it does not dry out and it is easy to clean up.  It didn't stick to the table or clothes.  I did have a hard time getting it off some of their  toys.  They used it with their baby dolls and some of their playdough toys.  I had a difficult time get it out of the baby's mouth and other toys.  But when used on the tray or table, it was lots of fun.  Nice to have something new for them to play with.

Playfoam January 18, 2017
Reviewer: Soren, age 8 from Minnesota
This stuff is awesome! I love making all sorts of designs with this. My mom also lets me use it to help me think when I am doing my school work. I wish each color had its own container, though. I also like that it's easy to clean up on my own. Playfoam is so much fun.

Love! January 4, 2017
Reviewer: Karen
My three-year-old loves this stuff. Its pretty low mess and it keeps him occupied for a while during school with my older son. My only complaint is that it gets stuck in the playdough toys and I had to throw a couple out because it was so sticky that even after scrubbing it and washing it, I couldn't get the sticky stuff off. But for the most part, it is pretty mess free.  It wiped off my table easier than the playdough toys for some reason. I will definitely buy again.

Kind of Mess Free July 15, 2016
Reviewer: Christa
My children ages 1-5 have all enjoyed Playfoam and it is a bit easier to clean up than perhaps clay or dough. I do have to say that my kids at least really like to separate it instead of forming it, so the little beads go everywhere. It is a bit harder to shape than dough, so other than rolling it into a ball, the next best things is to break it apart.
