Lauri Alphabet Puzzles
Lauri is a leader in innovative teaching aids for developing reading. As children manipulate the three-dimensional bright crepe foam rubber letters, they increase visual and tactile perception, shape discrimination, and hand-eye coordination. However, if you were to buy only one Lauri puzzle, make it one of these. Educators argue about what to teach first - capitals or lower case. We chose capitals.

For the youngest, think of these as fabulous perception puzzles (just think of how similar E & F, O & Q, R & P, and M & N are). By 2, most toddlers are able to pick out each letter. Older children can match lower case and capitals, put together words, and use the puzzles for phonics games. You will not find a better "touch, feel, and fit" alphabet, or a more durable one for those children who delight in pounding the pieces in. And they all do, don't they? For home schooling, this puzzle is an essential. 2" tall letters! Includes a sturdy storage tray.

Please Note: The colors on the puzzle pieces and backgrounds vary. Color combinations may be different than those pictured online.

Another outstanding component of Timberdoodle's 2016 Preschool Curriculum Kit!

I had this puzzle as January 12, 2016
Reviewer: Karen S.
I had this puzzle as a child and my mother saved it all these years for my kids. We got this puzzle out for my son when he was 1-2 yrs old, he played with it so much that it disintergrated into pieces from being 35 yrs old. Just purchased new one for my second child. Certainly a favorite of both my sons, they have played with the puzzle for several years now and still love it.

Love it. November 14, 2015
Reviewer: Jennifer H.
My 2 year old loves to pop the letters in and out, especially the centers of the letters. Since they are foam, the pieces and the frame have a little give, so it is easier for him to push the letters in without getting frustrated if he doesn't have them perfectly lined up, unlike with traditional wooden puzzles. We turn it into a bigger game by challenging one another to find a specific letter in the pile, or finding the letter that goes in a specific hole.

Both of my sons love October 20, 2015

Both of my sons love these. It's nice to remove the letters and let them play with it. We bury them in kinetic sand and search for certain letters with small machines, etc. These puzzles offer the opportunity to learn letters in a tactile way. They are very durable as well. We have a baby who chews everything and he hasn't bitten through any of them.

My 2 year old LOVES these puzzles and is doing great at recognizing which letters go into the correct spots! I am looking forward to utilizing them more this year for identifying letters and sounds! Definitely something that will last us!

The best preschool puzzles September 27, 2014
Reviewer: Melanie
My 2 1/2 year old and I both love these puzzles. She enjoys looking at the pictures in the tray and asks me for the letter sounds as she puts each piece in place. She also loves showing me the "bumpy" side vs the "smooth" side. I know that Lauri puzzles are sturdy because I have others that are 15+ years old and still look new. The Lauri company has also gladly replaced a missing piece or two when I contacted them.
