Young children love tracing mazes with a pencil. Mazes let children have fun while at the same time improving their judgment and pencil-control abilities, both of which are crucial elements in their future studies. The aim of this book is to improve children's reasoning and motor skills. Ages 3 to 5.

About Mazes:
What child doesn't love the challenge of mazes? Mazes allow your child the opportunity to practice basic pencil control in an enjoyable, exciting way. These pencil skills are necessary for the legible writing of letters and numbers. Plus because mazes are naturally absorbing they help your child acquire the ability to reason, interpret, understand and concentrate. These elemental skills are some of the bedrock essentials for later academics.

Too much fun! August 31, 2013
Reviewer: Snickerslatte
When I bought this, I didn't think my 3 year old would be ready for this any time soon. He has never been very interested in coloring, so his pencil holding skills were lacking. BUT he LOVES mazes! He dug right into this book. I have to limit him to 2 pages a day or he would do the whole thing at once. And he can hold a pencil just fine now!

Perfect for My Four Year Old April 13, 2013
Reviewer: Wendi
My son was always wanting to do mazes from the Pre-K core, so we bought a new maze book for "fun" and kept the other one for "school". We kept the fun one in the car and when we were stuck somewhere and in danger of getting bored, out comes the backpack. Of all the activities in there, this was usually his first choice. I love how you can see his writing skills improve from the first page to the last (they're all done now) and I love having entertainment for him that's not my smartphone.

Great pre-writing skills! April 27, 2011
Reviewer: Jennifer Schneider from Rhinelander, WI United States
Kumon has the most wonderful preschool and school aged books!  They do an excellent job of breaking down the information into bite-sized, easily progressive bits for kids.  Mazes are such a fun way for children to develop hand muscle control which they need in writing.  These mazes are simple, challenging and fun!  I recommend maze books for every child!  They learn without realizing it!  Enjoy!

Great maze book! November 15, 2010
Reviewer: Misty Marr from Buckeye, AZ United States
The Kumon My First Book of Mazes is a great book of mazes starting out pretty easy and working up to a little harder.  Although this book says "first," it is actually a step above the My Book of Easy Mazes.  This maze book has a simple line drawn maze on the even numbers and a picture maze on the odds.  That provides some variety in the look of the mazes. Kumon workbooks are very good quality, and this is not an exception!

Great book for beginning fine motor skills February 19, 2010
Reviewer: Genie from Anaheim CA
This is a great book for beginning fine motor skills, holding a pencil/crayon, and great price for a consumable. Great for ages 2-4. Can pull it out anywhere to keep kids busy and since the mazes increase in difficulty it makes them even more interesting. Buy the set because they go through them quick!
