Perfect for Your Early Mathematician
Help your younger children develop fine motor skills while learning to form their numbers with the Kid-O 0-9 Magnatab Numbers. A companion to the Upper Case and lower case A to Z Magnatab Magnetic Writing Tablets, the Magnatab Numbers focuses on the movements necessary to form numbers 0-9, helping prepare young students for their first math lessons.

An Ideal Tool to Help Form Numbers
Kid-O 0-9 Magnatab Numbers is the ideal tool to help your child focus on forming numbers correctly and consistently. Your child will eagerly trace each number with the magnetic stylus just to see and hear the little metal balls snap to the surface to make the number. Then, to further help him develop a feel for each number, lightly trace over the numbers with the tip of a finger and the metal balls clatter back into the 0-9 Magnatab base. One tool, two approaches to teach young children how to write their numbers.

Innovative Handwriting Tool
Handwriting fluency is fundamental to all areas of education, yet some of the most engaging and intelligent children are challenged with the mechanics of handwriting and fine motor tasks. There are a variety of causes of difficulty with handwriting, but when it is your child that has this problem, the label is not as important as the solution.

Multisensory Techniques Will Help
Handwriting habits are well-established early, so it is important to get it right. Of course the best method for properly mastering this vital skill is through multisensory techniques. But if the idea of writing numbers in shaving cream or jello seems to you a gross waste of money, and messy to boot, you will be relieved to know there is another fun and innovative solution. Kid-O 0-9 Magnatab Numbers is the ideal tool to help your child focus on forming letters correctly and consistently.

Extremely Safe
All the metal balls are permanently sealed into the Kid-O 0-9 Magnatab Numbers base, which means there is no danger of a stray ball being mistaken as finger food. Kid-O 0-9 Magnatab Numbers measures 7 1/2 " x 6" x 1/2" and is suitable for ages 3+.

Favorite For Mommy & Me Time September 24, 2012
Reviewer: Sunflower Seed
The Kid-O 0-9 Magnatab Numbers tablet is one of my sons favorites for mommy & me time when he gets my undivided one-on-one attention. It facilitates learning proper hand control. That is not an easy thing to learn for a 2.5yr old. So a good way to teach with this tool is to place your hand over your child's hand and work on the numbers together. The only number I found to have learned to write differently is the number '5'. But the rest of the numbers have the same directions to follow as when I learned long ago.

Fun, but educational value debatable May 31, 2012
Reviewer: RJ
I thought this would help my children learn to write numbers. Not so. The magnet attracts the balls prematurely, so there is no incentive to follow the line. Rather, the children tend to run the pen across the board randomly. Also, the arrows are just plain wrong, and I mean VERY WRONG. Any child who is old enough to follow arrows should not be exposed to these poor guidelines. Thankfully, the paint on ours wore off almost completely before the year was up (the kids liked to play with it). I prefer the free play magnatab, which has no letters or numbers on it, but allows for creativity and number/letter shaping according to the parent's direction.

A toy and a tool! August 3, 2011

We have all three of the Magnatab writers and we like them all!  Two things to note about the number writer: 1. The arrows which direct the child how to form the number may not seem intuitive (for example, I thought their directions for making a four were odd).  However, with a little white paint and a Sharpie, you can change that!   2. The numbers are small and the ball-bearings are close together so sometimes the little balls pop into place even though your child hasn't actually finished the strokes.  I tell my children to finish out the strokes no matter when the balls appear and it doesn't seem to bother them.  BONUS: It is really fun to pop the balls back down when you are done!
