Grammar and Punctuation Practice
Editor in Chief improves your child's grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, and attention to detail using a standards-based thinking approach rather than drill and practice. This effective method teaches students to carefully analyze and edit stories that contain errors in writing mechanics and story details.

The stories involve mixed-skills practice, starting with easier errors and becoming more challenging as students become adept at the editing process.

Students identify and circle errors in each story. They then insert, modify, or delete punctuation, words, and short phrases to make corrections. An editing checklist and annotated guide to grammar, usage, and punctuation are provided to help focus students' thinking and allow them to match their answers to applicable rules.

Detailed answers are also included.

Took a minute to figure out how to use. But very easy after we figured it out. My son just loves it. And he loves the arcade games he gets to play once he earns tokens. So he tries his best not to make a mistake! So no hurrying so he can do a good job!

Mom loves this book January 14, 2013

I am always finding errors in the books that I read, so I really enjoyed this book for my daughter! It's like a fun puzzle looking for the pieces. Rather than rewrite the entire story, we opted to just number the spaces at the bottom of the page & write just the corrections on each line number. We have already finished this book and have gone on to the next one.

Editor-In-Chief A2 January 17, 2011
Reviewer: S. MIller from Bloomington, IN
For the teacher, the answer key clearly identified the needed corrections with the explanation as to why the grammar correction is needed. I presented the book as seat work for him to do while I worked with my other student. I let him pick the stories that caught his attention and while we have not started from the beginning of the book it does not take away from the grammar instruction.
My son tackled the exercises with enthusiasm. He found the articles interesting and the challenge of finding the mistakes "fun". He loves to read and this challenged him to pay attention to the readings and to look for mistakes.
