    About the Daily Geography Series:
While most children are fascinated with the study of geography, many teaching parents are discovering that without regular exposure, newly acquired information is not retained. If this is the case with your child, or if your state requires a grade-appropriate geography study, then Daily Geography Practice is what you are looking for.

With just fifteen minutes a day your child will become geographically literate. Each of the lessons is correlated to the National Geography Standards and includes a resource page that consists of a statement of the geography standard and skill being addressed, background information and suggestions for introducing the skill, geography vocabulary and definitions, and an answer key for the lesson.

Your child's page will be made up of two geography questions for each day of the week that progress in difficulty from Monday to Friday and an extra credit challenge question at the end of each week. Short, sweet, and to the point, Daily Geography Practice will assure that your children are geographically astute.

Another outstanding component of Timberdoodle's 2016 First-Grade Curriculum Kit!

My son loves it! October 18, 2016

This is a fun, easy way to introduce map reading skills.  We use it to break up the more difficult or "boring" subjects.  My son enjoys coloring the maps.  We do a whole week in one sitting usually.

Simplistic and Vague November 13, 2015
    Reviewer: Margaret
I was excited to try this series but found this workbook to be much too simplistic for Grade 1. Oftentimes, the map question asks for the street name for a specific landmark and chooses one to be the "correct" street; however, given that the landmark is on a corner, either street could be considered correct. I wish Timberdoodle would carry the MCP Maps, Charts, Graphs series instead as it is much more complete and challenging. TD Reply: Hello Margaret, thank you for taking the time to share your detailed review, we are so sorry that Daily Geography failed to be a good fit for your family. We did consider and compare the MCP Maps, Charts, Graphs series, but as I recall it had not been updated since the early 1990s, and therefore had some inaccurate maps where countries have recently changed. That was one of the reasons we felt that Daily Geography was a better choice for our customers. Also, I can understand why it would be confusing to have the landmark shown on two streets while the answer key states it was only on one of them. However, in looking through Daily Geography 1, it seems that in most instances it gave a clue about which street the landmark was on by having the driveway lead out to the street that was listed in the answer key. Besides, this is a helpful life application, since real-life corner buildings are listed at only one address. I hope that additional info helps clarify, and again, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us and with our customers!- The Timberdoodle Team

So fun and easy to learn October 2, 2014

We started last year with the Beginning Geography book and our daughter really enjoyed all the material. We purchased this Grade 1 book because we knew how much she enjoyed the beginning level and loved the layout and content of the book. So far this year, we're equally satisfied with this level and look forward to future level purchases!

Such a great idea!  These maps start simple, with a map of a bedroom, and move to more abstract representations.  My son loves that he can read maps and now drives us crazy in the car telling everyone what road we are on etc.!  I have to slow him down to one page a day (but honestly, it would be a pain to pull this out for the two minutes required to answer the daily question everyday!!) and he can't wait to learn more.  Its also a perfect break in our day.

A Fun and Engaging Diversion June 18, 2013
    Reviewer: Kimberlee
This is the book we pull out when our kids are getting tired of thinking hard at math, or are getting bored with a writing assignment. It's fun and imaginative, totally different than all their other books, and does a fabulous job at reinforcing geography skills. Between my two children, we have completed levels K through 2 of this series. In doing so, we've found that each level covers material very similar to the others. However, each level increases in depth and scope. This serves to reinforce, and then build on previous material. My boys are confident map-readers and are developing an excellent understanding of direction, not just on maps, but in the real-world, as well. I love this book!
