Daily 6-Trait Writing
Help your child develop writing skills using daily lessons that fit into every language arts program. Are you familiar with trait writing? Trait-based writing is an impressive method educators have developed to determine if a child's writing is skilled or not.

The six traits or characteristics that shape quality writing are content; organization; word choice; sentence fluency; voice; and conventions, which include grammar, spelling, and mechanics. It may sound ominous, but Daily 6-Trait Writing has made it effortless.

With 125 dynamic writing lessons, Daily 6-Trait Writing will provide your child practice and instruction concerning all the skills essential to becoming a competent writer. Research proves that a solid understanding of the six traits of writing improves a child's ability to write successfully, and just fifteen minutes or less a day is all it will take. Daily 6-Trait Writing is correlated to state standards for educators, with a dash of fun for our apprentice writers.

Great October 13, 2015
Reviewer: Catherine E.
I like the short lessons in this book - great for 5 and 6 year olds with short attention spans. The book does a good job of putting things into terms my daughter understands, without making concepts too simple. This is our third book in the "Daily" books and I really like them!

Supplemental to our core curriculum; great book! July 27, 2014
Reviewer: Kelly W.
I purchased this book because it was a great support to our writing program this year. I really love the books that Evan-Moor publish and this one is no exception. Great layout. Great practice. Nice large fonts that are easy to read. This book also has a great section which helps you to teach your children as you go through the book. It lays out what you should say when going through each page. This is immensely helpful to those of us that are just learning how to homeschool. I appreciate how thorough the instructions are for a newbie. My daughter also enjoys these books because they are fun and have great visuals.

It was August 9, 2013
Reviewer: DaNae
My 6 year old really liked this book. But it was a little to complex for him without my help. It seemed to challenge him just right without frustrating him. I could see him progress in his writing abilities through the year. I did hold off on using this book until the 2nd semester, because he was a little too young for it. I am glad that I did. Starting late didn't hold us back. Once we started, he wanted to do several days worth of work in one day.

Great writing introduction January 14, 2013
Reviewer: scrapbooking mom
My first grade son enjoyed working through this book. Each day of the week builds on itself digging deeper into the concept for the week. Good repetition, but not too much. Good introduction to grammar, language use and writing. My son didn't enjoy the 5th day writing assignment much because he doesn't like to write. However, with a little modification from me we were able to complete it for most weeks.

Easy and Fun January 2, 2013
Reviewer: Stephanie
We really enjoy these lessons. They are short and easy, but done daily so that they repeatedly reinforce the lessons being taught that week. The book teaches basic writing traits such as choosing a topic, using good describing words, and organization of a story. It's a great tool for teaching a child about story writing.
