    Couldn't get enough! January 15, 2013

Such a fun, fun, fun craft! My four year old learned how to use scissors doing this. He had such a blast cutting the pretraced animal parts, gluing them together and displaying his works of art. I am not a huge fan of art projects that are put together already, but this one provided enough for the child to do that it is their own creation. It just guides them. I was also able to step away from my son while he did it, because it's so self explanitory. The extra paper for creating your own animal is a great touch. A wonderful product for practicing your cutting and pasting!

Creative Projects for Preschoolers January 14, 2013

My four year old loves to make "animal heads" using this kit. She already knew how to use normal scissors before getting this kit, so the ones included were too awkward for her. She is easily able to cut out the pre-patterned shapes and glue them onto the provided frames. Threads for hanging the frames are also included! Each animal head is a complete project and when finished, they make a nice set of animals for display.

    A fun concept, but... January 14, 2013

My son is a leftie. While you can use these scissors with your left or right hand, because of the way the blades are laid out, it is optimal in your right hand. These scissors are good if your child really wants to cut paper, but cannot maneuver a traditional pair of scissors. However, I don't think these are really at a level below regular scissors -- the way you hold them in your hand is a bit different from traditional scissors in terms of angle and muscle movement. The crafts within the set look like fun to complete, but I haven't introduced them to my son yet (now 4, though he was 3.5 when I first gave him the scissors). His cutting skills aren't as good as they should be for this kit. I think he'd want to be a bit more steady before attempting to create the animals. Overall, this is a neat concept but if your money is limited, you could skip this one since I don't feel it has value worth the price.

very innovative scissors May 3, 2012

What took the ingenious crowd so long to come up with these scissors. I love using them too. They don't make your fingers sore like regular scissors. They are a little more difficult to control for those of us who are experienced cutters. For preschoolers, they are much easier to use. I had all but given up on cutting projects with my nearly four year old even though we have other special scissors for little hands. She loves the animal projects. If I would let her, she would have made the entire jungle in one very long sitting. I purchased the kit, even though I already have googly eyes and hundreds of sheets of animal print paper. It is just so nice and easy to be able to wip out the paper and have the cutting lines already printed on the back. Great way to increase fine motor control and delivers an eye pleasing product to hang on the wall.

My First Scissors October 3, 2011

I purchased these for my 8 year old with Down syndrome. He was having a hard time using regular scissors. He is doing very well with these. He has a lot more control and is able to cut a staight line. I'm really happy with these scissors and wise I had purchased them sooner.
