Easy Grammar 6 Teacher's
Most children dread grammar study because it is too complex. But Easy Grammar is just that--easy. By deleting and marking certain words or phrases, Easy Grammar Grade 6 employs a virtually "hands-on" approach. The vocabulary has been kept simple and, in most cases, the sentences are rather short. This very logical, simple, no-nonsense grammar program is easy to use because each lesson focuses on just one topic. Lots of review helps to ensure comprehensive learning with excellent results.
From firefighting to law-making, an ability to write clearly will serve your child for the rest of his life. Wordsmith Apprentice has all the practicality, humor, and fun of the original Wordsmith book included in seventh grade, but this one is written specifically for this age-group. It's an easy-to-use introductory writing course that encourages students to develop their writing skills as they participate in every role on a newspaper staff: editor, reporter, writer, etc. Children develop a love for writing as they express themselves through sentence and paragraph writing, persuasive writing, and much more.
Critical and Creative 6
From brainteasers and logic puzzles to mazes, Venn diagrams, and secret codes, Critical & Creative Thinking Activities has a wealth of mind-boggling activities that your child will enjoy. Exercises include thinking fluency, originality, generalizing, patterning, and problem-solving. Every lesson is based on grade-appropriate themes and is correlated to state standards. Just as important, the presentation is appealing, and many students will find that thinking skills are the highlight of their schoolwork.
Doodle Your Day
Doodle Your Day introduces your child to microjournaling, or journaling in small bits. With 365 doodle and journaling prompts for your young artist, Doodle Your Day makes microjournaling easy. From drawing today's weather to sketching what made him laugh on International Moment of Laughter Day, your child will love exploring his imagination with such an immense variety of topics. This is an easy, appealing way to expand your child's creative juices.

2015 Sixth Grade Complete
Pathway Reader 6
Designed to be used in Amish classrooms, these basal readers are solidly wholesome, with none of the fantasy that is commonplace in both Christian and secular readers. Because the Amish don't use electricity, you won't find stories dealing with the latest in films, computers, or TVs. Instead, the stories are centered on farm life, with horse auctions, harvests, and LARGE families. With simple typesetting and a few black-and-white sketches, these hardback books are not splashy, but are lovely in their simplicity.
One note: While we believe that reading is the single most important skill to foster in your sixth-grader, you'll notice that we did not include many traditional readers. Don't let this puzzle you. Our experience is that the best way to help your child become an eager reader is to constantly supply him with reading materials that interest him. Future doctors may want to read up on anatomy, young explorers are drawn to the escapades of adventurers young and old, and the baby-lover in your family will be captivated by adoption stories. Assign reading if you must, but encourage it at all costs; a child who enjoys reading will find it easier to excel in every area.
Word Up Vocabulary
With lots of excellent video footage and informative slides, Wordup! lessons cover Latin and Greek roots, as well as hundreds of English words. At the end of the ten lessons your child will have a better understanding of many English words, and he will also have a foundation to decode many more. Recommended for ages 10 and older, but so engaging the entire family will want to be a part. Wordup! DVD includes: 10 video lessons (12-15 min each), each teaching 20 Latin and Greek roots.
Typing Instructor Platinum
Being a competent typist gives children greater job flexibility and allows them to be more productive, so if you are looking for the best typing program available for your family, look no further. We spent countless hours evaluating the competition, but everything else we tried was juvenile, stressful, violent, or just plain dumb.
Typing Instructor Platinum offers a variety of typing plans that can be tailored to your skill level and preferences, including a typing plan just for children. Typing Instructor Platinum Version 21 is the easiest method to teach this vital skill. (NOTE: MAC version is also available and can be substituted upon request).
Brain Fitness Solitaire Chess
Fast-paced Brain Fitness Solitaire Chess will exercise your child's critical-thinking, spatial, analytical, and decision-making skills, while at the same time sharpening his chess skills. Using only traditional chess moves, he must eliminate all of the pieces from the game board except one. This logic game, based on the rules of chess, will not only help your child learn the game, but also greatly improve his ability to "think chess."
What programmable robot do you know that is super-durable and can withstand dog jaws, kicks from toddlers, and adventures in the high seas? Sphero 2.0 is more than a remote-control toy, though its precision is amazing; more than a source of multiplayer electronic games, though youll be missing out if you dont investigate at least some of them; and more than a hand-held controller for app-based games.
Anatomy and Physiology
A colorful, conversational approach to science, Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology is also very easy to teach. This program uses a notebook-based approach, meaning that as you go through the course your child will be asked to write, draw, or dictate the results of his experiments into a notebook. Not only will this help him retain what he learns, but at the end of the year you will have a lovely record of his work! The hands-on experiments sprinkled throughout the book are sure to be a highlight for both of you. Your Complete Curriculum includes the Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology hardbound textbook and a Notebooking Journal. One note: Don't feel you need to fill in every spot in the notebook; pick and choose what your time and your child's interest allows!
Human Body Cube Books
This cleverly jointed cube book unfolds to reveal 12 illustrated "pages" full of images, facts, and figures concerning muscles, bones, and major body systems. Fold the cube in and each side has a different topic, such as the eye or brain, or unfold it to study the full-body skeleton, muscular system, etc.
Uncle Sam and You Bundle
A good civics course will teach your child about how laws are made, enforced, modified, and amended, and about his rights and duties as a citizen. A great civics course goes even further. Uncle Sam and You not only covers the basics but also delves into national symbols, international relations, national security, national holidays, and much, much more. Replete with images, the text highlights both modern and historical photographs and illustrations. Bundle includes text; answer key; and The Citizen's Handbook, a diverse collection of speeches, historical writings, and more.
The Search and A Family Secret
This pair of graphic novels explores the impact of the German occupation and the Holocaust on Dutch and Jewish families during WWII. From the innocent to the heroic resistance fighters, and from the passive bystanders to the brutal Nazis, A Family Secret communicates some of the most perplexing and disturbing events in Dutch history, from a "safe" Dutch girl's perspective. The story and characters from A Family Secret are intertwined and expanded upon in The Search, in which a Jewish grandmother recounts to her grandson how she escaped from the Nazis. With her grandson's help she plunges into a search to discover what happened to the rest of her family during their last months at Auschwitz. The Search is a compilation of many stories of Jewish families who experienced the horror of the Holocaust.
Complete-A-Sketch Advanced CD
This is one of our favorite product lines; it does such an excellent job of teaching a very necessary skill. Complete-A-Sketch Advanced has taken what has been excellent and raised it to a higher level.
When one of our children was a preschooler, we received the best advice a parent of a kinesthetic child could receive: Let her wiggle. And wiggle she did. I don't think she sat for schoolwork for many years. Thinking Putty offers your child a way to move without becoming a distraction. An impressive, adult-sized handful of high-quality, moldable putty, the non-toxic, non-gooey Thinking Putty will bounce, stretch, tear, drip, snap, even shatter. Finally, your little wiggler will be able to sit and listen!

Show Me How to Survive
It was this 3-D Torso Puzzle that was the beginning of our addiction to these collectible-quality puzzles. While a mere thirty-two pieces, it was challenging for the entire family and remains one of our favorites today. There are many torso models currently on the market, but none are as demanding. The finely-detailed sculpturing with hand-painted parts ensures that this puzzle is up to medical-school quality. Not quite five inches tall when assembled, so fine-motor skills are a must. Not only will the hands-on element provide a welcome change of pace for your student, but physically assembling the puzzle will also help your student visualize and remember how parts fit together. For those who want to know, a bladder is depicted, but there are no gender-related details.
Scholastic Discover More - Human Body
The challenge of reviewing any anatomy book is finding the right balance between fascinating details that inspire awe and wonder without too much information that robs children of their innocence or that leads to uncomfortable discussions in public places. Suitable for children of all ages, Discover More: Human Body strikes that perfect balance.
Extreme Dot-to-Dot Around the USA
Unlike conventional dot-to-dot puzzles that reveal too much of the picture and ruin the mystery, the Extreme Dot-to-Dot puzzles are intricate and so challenging that when your child looks at a page, he will have no idea what the result will be. And you're not only reinforcing numbers and number order - these are each effective brainteasers and even many an adult has found these books both provoking and relaxing! This will be a treat for sluggish minds or weary bodies, a perfect way to start a slow-moving school day.
Uncle Sam and You Student Workbook
Crosswords, find-a-words, matching, drawing assignments, and other handwork activities in the Uncle Sam and You Student Workbook review and reinforce information learned in the daily lessons. Unit tests are also included.

The 4-D Cityscape USA History Over Time Puzzle is a unique 4-D puzzle that enables you to incorporate the fourth dimension of time as you piece together the growth of the USA. The first layer of the USA History Over Time Puzzle is made up of 806 cardboard pieces and details the territorial expansions that occurred from 1783 to the 1900s. The second layer is sixty-five pieces of dense foam, including mountain layers, that are assembled on top of the territorial expansions.
