Timberdoodle's review

Bubber Castle Molds
Castle Molds consists of eight sturdy, child-sized pieces for building castles with modeling compounds. Designed for fine wet sand, we have found that nothing works as well with Bubber as Castle Mold's two extruding tools. Effortlessly fashion countless rectangular rods or round cylinders, then let your imagination take over.

Take These to the Beach
The staircase and the brick wall mold are not designed to work with Bubber, as Bubber is not heavy enough to release from the mold, so save those components for the sandbox or a trip to the beach.

Features

CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Not for children under 3yrs.

Not great with Bubber November 26, 2013
Reviewer: Sarah N.
We got these as a part of our preschool curriculum, along with Bubber. Unfortunately, they have ended up being rather difficult to use. The Bubber gets stuck in the detail-oriented molds such as the wall and the circular tower-topper thing; you can only get it out in bits. The column syringes are a great idea, and when they do work they make excellent columns which are great for building and very satisfying to slice. However, more often than not, the Bubber gets so compressed in the tube that it is nearly impossible to get out. You can push and push on that depressor and it doesn't budge - even my strong husband can't do it! The only way to get it out is by wiggling a knife around all four sides until a path for air has been made that releases some of the suction and, with enough force, finally enables you to push the now-rather-mangled column out. This happens probably 65% of the time.I would give these two stars, but I see from the review below that someone has been using them to build sandcastles and they seem to work. I haven't tried them with sand yet but I would like to - hopefully they will work much better with that compound than they do with Bubber! Also, I will say that they are very well constructed and not flimsy at all, so if they *do* end up working well with sand, they seem like they will last a good long time.Timberdoodle: you might consider finding a new set of molds to sell alongside your Bubber in the preschool kit. There must be easier ones to use out there somewhere.

Great Sand toys! November 8, 2010
Reviewer: Misty Marr from Buckeye, AZ United States
I bought theses Castle molds hoping to use them with play dough.  I knew immediately that these would not work for play dough! First of all, the pieces are way to big and the details too fine.  However those "faults" are big pluses when it comes to sand!  These are great for playing in the dirt or for sand castles.  The pieces are sturdy and nice sized.  These are not a cheapy toy that will last one trip to the beach.  You will be able to use them over and over, and they will provide many hours of fun.  Your creativity is the limit as to what you can build with these!
