Timberdoodle's review

Anaconda
While the largest anaconda ever measured was almost twenty-eight-feet long and probably weighed over 500 lbs., Anaconda from Smart Games is small enough to fit into your child's backpack and is definitely more lap-friendly! The object of Anaconda is to make more than 100 complete snakes from head to tail. Gorgeous, double-sided tile puzzle pieces are either printed with portions of an anaconda's body or left blank. All the puzzle tiles that you don't need for the snake are placed on the game board with the blank side facing up.

100 Challenges, Five Levels of Difficulty
For Anaconda's first seventy-seven challenges, your child will have hints about the correct place for a few of the puzzle pieces. For the last twenty-three challenges, you're only given the position of the square that needs to remain visible. Anaconda contains 100 exciting challenges, eight double-sided puzzle tiles, and a game board with a nifty storage compartment. Includes solutions for all but the twenty-three most extreme challenges; you're on your own for those! For ages seven plus.

My 8-year-old daughter loves to sit and do these puzzles. She knows once all of her school work is done then she can work on these puzzles for as long as she would like. Even the little ones want to try these puzzles. Great for long rides in the car as well.

    Anaconda deserves a 10 star rating! April 20, 2012
    Reviewer: L A Schuler
As a former home school parent, I've been familiar with Timberdoodle for years. As a classroom teacher in public and private schools, when I needed quality, "thinking" games and activities for my classroom students, I continued to turn to Timberdoodle. I currently teach in Alaska. When I first discovered Anaconda in the fall of 2011, I thought it looked like the coolest logic puzzle ever. I purchased one for my resource classroom. Boys and girls ages 6-15 love Anaconda. Even some of my students who are learning disabled enjoy figuring out how to solve these puzzles with occasional help from me. I've watched children work together on one puzzle and enjoy sharing their ideas. Once one puzzle is accomplished, they are eager to move on to the next. Nobody is interested in looking at the solutions at the back of the book because they enjoy being 'puzzled' so much :) Adding more of these puzzles to my classroom arsenal is a given. One is not enough.

Creative way to learn critical thinking skills September 7, 2011
Reviewer: Karen C. from Waynesboro, GA United States
We purchased Anaconda for our 9-yr-old son as a way to help him focus on learning critical thinking skills, as he loves critters.  While he may complain about completing a math assignment on paper, he will sit quietly for a long time and work on these puzzles, figuring out which pieces must go where to complete the snake.  I have been adding these types of puzzles to our homeschool curriculum so that we can all have a puzzle to work on during "game time".  My son and I race to complete our puzzles, and my other children are occupied with other puzzles.  My younger children enjoy just playing with the Anaconda pieces - putting a snake together without following the diagram.  These games are a refreshing change from book work and I am looking forward to continuing this aspect of our schooling.
