Mom can we do art ! June 1, 2012
Reviewer: mick1020
My children, ages 6-11, loved this cdrom program. I didn't even have time to put it on their school schedule. The CD came in the mail and before I knew it all four of my kids had voluntarily done all of the lessons during their free time. Not only did the curriculum deliver on fun and engaging it was also highly educational. I loved the way it mixed art skills with learning about great artists from the past. My only complaint is that the don't make more levels of this art program.

Fun and engaging October 26, 2011

I am a homeschool mom and getting "art" in sometimes is a challenge.  I debated on getting this because MadLab doesn't support it.  They offer it online now but it is more expensive.  The sample lessons had my kids so excited though!  So after reading many reviews and finding out that more than one kid can use it, I went for it.

We love it!  It takes you back in time and brings you to the present.  Teaching art history along with today's technology.  With each lesson the kids listen to the story then are asked questions at the end.  Then they can choose to go to the "gizmo" and pull the lever to create their own project to do on their own (it gives them two choices) when done with the DVD.  It IS HANDS-ON. I read a review were they must not have scrolled down to see this part.

My children look forward to doing this everyday and it has encouraged their "on their own" creativity.  They love it and this way I don't have to come up with or search for things to do for art.

Great Art History Resource! October 3, 2011
Reviewer: Amy Dik from Wellington, CO United States
I bought Creativity Express for my 5-year-old son who wants to be an artist when he grows up, and he loves it!  He asks to play it on the computer almost every day!  He is younger than the targeted audience, but he has learned so much about art and art history from watching and listening.  It has spurred him to draw and paint more and use techniques he has learned from the Creativity Express program.  He also has been interested in learning more about artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, and Salvador Dali -- even recounting stories and identifying paintings he has seen and heard about while using this wonderful teaching tool! I love the interesting stories, dialogue, interactive learning opportunites, and colorful animation.  I highly recommend it and am so glad we found it!

Fantastic Resource! December 1, 2010
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Okawville, Illinois
Our 13-year-old daughter ordered this with birthday money over a year ago, and our four children (ages 8, 11, 13 & 15) have enjoyed countless hours using this program to learn about art techniques, famous artists & paintings, art history, and basic drawing skills.  The animated characters in the program add cheerfulness & humor to keep the kids interested and involved.  A real hit at our house!

Terrific Program for Budding Artists October 19, 2010
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Oberlin, OH United States
I didn't know what kind of reaction DD would give to this program.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that she truly enjoys it.  It's basically a souped-up tutorial on art terminology and gives several examples of the use of each term through pieces of artwork.  It discusses shade, value, color, portraying movement, emotion, and feeling in art (and many, many, more).  The characters are enjoyable and tickled DD's funnybone.
