Hot Tips for the Writing Life
Not every child aspires to write, but every parent knows the importance of a well-turned phrase. How do you reconcile an apathetic teen and an enthusiastic parent?

No-Nonsense Suggestions for the Teen Writer
Wordsmithy: Hot Tips for the Writing Life is a highly entertaining guide to writing. It melds compelling lifestyle practices with decidedly palatable, assignment-free lessons, each with its own simple, effective tips. Far removed from being a prescribed list of mechanical techniques, Wordsmithy will suggest that your teen get a life, read until his brain groans, learn a foreign language, and other no-nonsense proposals.

The Best Writing Book Your Teen Will Ever Read
For the highly motivated pre-writer, each chapter also includes some semi-helpful recommended readings; choose the ones that would be the most beneficial for your teen. Wordsmithy: Hot Tips for the Writing Life is quite possibly the best writing book your teen will ever read.

Another outstanding component of Timberdoodle's 2016 Eleventh-Grade Curriculum Kit!

Wrong Age. January 14, 2013
Reviewer: Seeking truth daily
Bought this for my 12 year old and quickly realized it is for older kids. She had little interest in it. So on the shelf it goes for a few years. Still seems like a valuable book for the future.

Fantastic Writing Coach! November 2, 2012
Reviewer: Patsy
I bought this book thinking it would help me kick start my teenagers into writing. My daughter (15) found the book before I had the chance to read it ~ absorbed it cover to cover and when done pronounced "This book is fantastic!" The child was nothing short of giddy. She is my writer, tho ~ and loves to discover fresh inspiration. Described it this way: I feel as if I've just had a nice chat with a writing coach ~ and came away inspired. Now that's worth the price of "admission", don't you think? :-)
