Timberdoodle's review

What Your Kindergartner Needs to Know
I (Joy) have mixed feelings about What Your Kindergartner Needs to Know. Our family never got into fairy tales and magic, and a large portion of the read-aloud stories at the beginning of What Your Kindergartner Needs to Know have these topics in common. Yet I love the author's emphasis on reading aloud to your children and the wide variety of art, math, music, and science activities to do with your kindergartner.

Includes Twenty Nuggets of History
How many brain-dead moms (or even babysitters like me!) would love to be able to pick up a book and simply flip through it for ideas? The tipping point for us was the twenty nuggets of history located in the middle of this book. Short stories about famous figures or simple synopses of USA history will help your child continue to develop the basics of a historical perspective and prepare him for jumping into a formal history program next year.

A Very Helpful Resource
In a nutshell, even if you skip or modify some of the read-aloud stories, as our family would have, you will find What Your Kindergartner Needs to Know to be a very helpful resource for everything from teaching handwriting to fun math projects you can do together.<

Another outstanding component of Timberdoodle's 2014 Kindergarten Curriculum Kit!
