Timberdoodle's review

Protect Your Knights

The object of the game is very simple: Place the four walls on the game board so that all the blue knights are inside the city and all the red knights are on the outside. Dads and teen boys are always drawn to Troy at our conferences, but none have made it through the more difficult levels! Troy has sixty challenges (five levels) from easy to brain-busting. For ages seven and up, but challenging enough for teens.

Another outstanding component of Timberdoodle's Tenth-Grade Curriculum!

Challenging Fun for a 7 yr old January 14, 2013
    Reviewer: Uncle A
My nephew is a high learning 7 yr old who tends to get bored easily at our house since we have mostly toddler toys & games. So when I introduced him to this new game, his intrigue quickly went to full focused challenge mode, which didn't stop for at least 30 minutes! He quickly got the hang of the easy-to-understand concept. And he loved getting stumped - that's where uncle (myself) came in to find it an exciting puzzle, too :-) This one is definitely a keeper for my nephew & the younger kids in the family in the coming years.

Beware of geeks bearing gifts. June 1, 2012
    Reviewer: Home Fried
My nerdy little boy just about fainted with joy when I presented him with this game. The title, Troy, made visions of Hector and Achilles dance in his head. While the game has some good challenges and has kept several kids occupied and thinking, it just isn't that interesting. The challenges are all similar. Calling it Troy markets it at folks like us who are bound to be persnickety, and it just doesn't quite have the oomph we were expecting. Not to mention that it is clearly a medieval castle and not a bronze-age fortress.

    A great Challenge May 31, 2012
    Reviewer: Kathy
I bought this for our children while we were studying the Middle Ages in Story of the World. Thought it would have a great tie in. The kids all loved it. The easier challanges were great for my youngest, while the harder one were perect for my older two. We do a lot of read alouds at our home and this is one of the activites that our kids will pick up to do while they are listening. The product is very durable and easy to understand the directions. I would highly recommend this product for logic skills sharpening. I will even pick it up once in a while, to see if I can solve one of the puzzles. Great fun!

Makes you think October 3, 2011

I bought 'Troy' to challenge my 8 year old son's thinking skills.  He enjoys playing strategy games and this one looked fun.  It is!  It is one of his games of choice.
