Top Trumps is Hard to Trump! September 29, 2012
Reviewer: CCA
We have really enjoyed playing Top Trumps Countries of the World. It is easy to learn how to play and relatively easy to play, especially if you just randomly choose a category when it is your turn to choose. You can reason through the categories on your card though and see which areas would be most likely to trump another country in the same category. This is a great way to learn about each country while enjoying playing a card game of "War with a twist". While children will probably not learn the square miles of each country, for example, they may very well learn which countries are larger and smaller than each other, which countries are more densely populated, etc. I LOVE all of the additional information that is included on the Top Trumps Countries of the World card, from the capital, to a picture of the country's flag, to a beautiful landmark picture from each country. My only complaint about the cards is that due to the traditional playing card size of the cards, all of the information included on the cards is VERY small. Personally I would have preferred the cards being a little larger and being able to more easily enjoy all of the information that is included on the cards. Although I do have this one caveat, it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the game or from it being an excellent educational product.
