The LEGO Ideas Book: Unlock Your Imagination
Hand me a bucket of LEGOs and watch my brain freeze. I may be a master builder when it comes to LEGO walls or towers, but anything more complex is not intuitive to me. I know I am not alone.

Nearly 200 Pages of Ideas
Do you suffer from the same malady? Does your experience mirrors ours, in that original ideas are impossible, but it is easy to look at what others have created and expand upon it? Then The LEGO Ideas Book is for you, giving you nearly 200 pages of project ideas, building tips, and reviews of unique LEGO bricks. The LEGO Ideas Book is bursting with over 500 designs from LEGO fans that will inspire both the neophyte and the professional builder.

Medieval Castles, Intergalactic Spaceships...
The LEGO Ideas Book has almost 100 different categories of objects, broken into six major groupings: vehicles, houses and landscaping, outer space, history, adventure, and real world creations. Build a four-piece duck or a sturdy elephant, a frightening dragon or a silly robot. There are also plenty of practical objects that you can make with LEGO bricks, like picture frames or a treasure chest with a secret drawer. The mosaics look especially attractive and fun to build.

A Visual Treasury of Building Ideas
While there are virtually no step-by-step directions, projects are beautifully photographed, many with multiple views to help the child who wants to copy the model. Plus there are plenty of helpful tips from Master Builders and straightforward building ideas to suit all abilities. And because The LEGO Ideas Book also shows you how to simplify details, you don't need to be concerned if you don't have the exact same bricks for most of the projects. However, keep in mind that it may be hard to duplicate a few projects without the specialty bricks called for in some designs.

Ideas to Suit All Abilities and Ages
Whether LEGOs are your pastime or your passion, you will love The LEGO Ideas Book.

For the consummate LEGO fan! June 1, 2012
Reviewer: Notebooking Mom
I purchased this book as a gift for my LEGO-loving sons, ages 15 and 9. They were immediately taken in by the beautiful photos in this large, full-color book. They spent more than an hour just pouring over all the ideas before setting off to build! While this book may be intimdiating for younger builders, older children who have a couple of years experience with LEGOs will find it a delightful challenge that may get them out of their building rut or their propensity to build using only kit instructions. And who knows--younger kids may be intrigued enough by the pictures to spend lots of time reading and soaking in all the cool LEGO information, preparing them for future building adventures!

Ideas to get you building June 1, 2012

Gave this to our grandson who just turned 7 and recently gotten "into" Legos. Ideas use basic pieces that are fairly common. Different categories provide something for every interest. Presents ideas that can be starting point and then be modified as creativity starts flowing. Instructions seem clear. Nice to have them bound in a book instead of trying to keep track of individual sheets.

Excellent book for your LEGO expert! May 31, 2012

My boys ages 10,8 and even my 3 year old have spent hours pouring over this book looking at the examples and dreaming of the things they could build. Which is great. But the really exciting thing is when they disappear into their room and show up later with a new creation all their own based on something they saw in the LEGO ideas book. We have many LEGO books and while the kids love the themed LEGO books, this is the one they keep coming back to. It's a must have for any LEGO loving family!
