The Hunchback of Notre Dame
This is the early elementary version of this well-known tale. Beginning with the story of a deformed infant abandoned to the church, and a beautiful baby stolen from its loving mother, there is lots here worthy of discussion. True beauty, love, disappointment, tragedy, justice, deception, anger, ignorance and a bit of the common culture of the times are all illuminated. A tragic tale, not for the faint of heart; but much easier to grasp in this well-done graphic version than in the original text.
