Pre-Pre-Algebra
The Math 7 Teaching Textbook is one level below Pre-Algebra. It includes basic arithmetic, geometry, statistics and probability, simple graphing concepts, and several chapters of real-world applications.

What You Get
The complete program includes lectures, practice, and solutions CD-ROMs with workbook. 115 lessons, 4 CDs, over 100 hours instruction time. It features automated grading, step-by-step audiovisual solutions, and lectures that contain lively animation and sound effects. It is perfect for even the mathematically anxious!

Complete Set Provides Everything Your Child Needs
Most families purchase the complete set, including the instructional CDs, consumable workbook, and answer booklet. The CDs give your student clear, interesting lectures for every lesson, along with detailed step-by-step solutions for all of the problems. The workbook not only provides a convenient place for students to work on the problems without having to copy each one onto separate paper, it also gives students written lesson summaries for them to refer to while doing the problems, and gives your children the option of carrying their work with them away from the computer for added mobility after they’ve watched the lesson.

CDs-Only Option May Work for Some Families
Some families choose to buy the CDs only for Math 7 and use them without the workbook. While this option will be less expensive, keep in mind that your child will need to keep a notebook to copy the problems into to work on them, and will lose the other benefits mentioned above of owning the workbook. Please note that you also will not receive the answer booklet with the CDs-only purchase.

Extra Workbooks Available for Additional Students
If you appreciate the benefits of using the Teaching Textbooks workbook, you’ll be pleased to know you can also purchase extra workbooks for additional students without having to buy a complete extra Teaching Textbooks set. If you have two students doing this grade together or another student coming up to this grade, and already own the CDs, click here to purchase an extra workbook. Please note that the CDs are required for this course, as the workbook alone will not contain all of the instructional content.

About Teaching Textbooks

Math for Homeschoolers
A number of years ago we did the unthinkable and took a poke at a sacred cow when we said that we didn't like the conventional big-name home school math programs. Though some families were steadfast in their defense, there has since been an increasing number of families who have come to realize that math programs originally designed to be used in government schools are wholly inadequate to meet the needs of home educators.

You Don't Have to Be a Math Teacher!
What is wrong with adapting a school-based text for home use? There are a couple of significant issues with doing that. First, because a typical school text assumes a knowledgeable math teacher, the explanations are often meager and brief. If you double as a math teacher, this will present no problem to you. However, many parents either did not take upper level math as a teen, or if they did, the process is just a distant, unpleasant memory. So sparse explanations in typical texts can be frustrating to both child and parent. Second, government schools' math texts often contain excessive use of terminology, making simple ideas seem complex.

Designed for Independent Learners
The Teaching Textbooks series is produced with home educators in mind, so it tackles those issues head-on. Firstly, since the program is designed specifically for independent learners, it offers far more explanation than any others on the market, and the tone is friendly and conversational. What ultimately sold me on this program are their computer CDs with down-to-earth, step-by-step multimedia solutions for every problem in the book, plus complete step-by-step solutions for every test problem.

Friendly Conversational Tone
The lectures - one for each lesson in the textbook - provide hours of instruction. Students will appreciate listening to (and watching) an explanation for each lesson rather than reading it out of a book. Designed for homeschoolers studying independently, Teaching Textbooks uses far less irrelevant jargon than other textbooks, while still retaining all the terms that students need to know for those important standardized tests, and the tone is friendly and conversational. This is a brilliant idea, long overdue and skillfully done.

Workbook Includes Lesson Summaries
The Teaching Textbooks program also incorporates a workbook in which your child will do daily math assignments. Designed specifically for independent learners, the Teaching Textbooks workbook contains a summary of the lectures from the CD, which allows your child to review key points from the lesson as necessary while working the problems. The workbook also comes with an answer key and a test bank.

Review Method
The Teaching Textbooks series has been field-tested with outstanding results. Like other quality math programs, Teaching Textbooks uses the review method because it is a proven method for ensuring children are able to master difficult subjects such as algebra and geometry. Students using Teaching Textbooks are fully prepared for College Board examinations and college courses. Enjoyable, efficient, and effective, what more could you want from a math program?

All the kids love it! December 23, 2014
    Reviewer: Reyna R.
This is my 3rd year buying TT, and I can only say I wish they made Language Arts in the same format! My 3 kids have also voiced the same wish. I had heard to buy one grade up, but decided not to do that and my son was right on target with the public school that we had taken him out of. They even seemed to be teaching the same concepts within a couple weeks of each other. However, I think because it is computer based and shows one problem at a time, my son averaged an 86% on all of his quizzes instead of the 63% he was getting in public school.

I wish there was more October 28, 2014
    Reviewer: Cheri W.
I wish there was more review on new topics taught in each lesson or some way that the CD Rom would automatically take the student to a page of nothing but problems on the new topic so the repetition of the same type of problems would insure that they've "got it." Let me know if this something I'm missing if it's already in the Complete Set!!!! Thanks!

    I bought this as a September 23, 2014
    Reviewer: Linda J.
I bought this as a remedial program for my 15-year old daughter. She really likes it. My 9-year old son started doing the lessons and calls it 'his math game' and begs for time to use the curriculum. I love the fact that my daughter is not dreading math anymore, the computer shows me where we need to spend extra time, and my math-loving son is eager to learn the next 'game'.
