Undeniably the best choice |

I finally had to admit I was exhausted. I was trying to homeschool four children with toddler twins and a new baby on the way. Each day I felt like we were barely getting through the basics of language arts and math. Each child required individual instruction which could take up to an hour each. By the time you added in all the regular household responsibilities, I was stretched thin. When I found Teaching Textbooks, even the price wasn't enough to scare me off. This one purchase alone could save me on average three hours of instruction and another hour of grading per day. We purchased all available levels for our kids. Now their math is improving and the kids actually look forward to completing their lessons! They are thrilled with the instant feedback and I appreciate the automatic gradebook and the instant breakdown of whether or not they are watching the solution after missing a problem. We're hooked and I don't see us ever using a different math program.

My son asks if he can keep doing more math--he likes it that much! I love that he has someone to show him step-by-step how to come up with the answer. I am not a math person myself, so it isn't always easy for me to get the light to come on for him. We are very happy with it.

Good for keeping a young boy's attention! |

We have used Teaching Textbooks Level 5 this year and C. is loving it! The lessons are short and interactive - good for keeping a young boy's attention. The problem sets are 22 questions from a variety of skills that are being learned so it is not an overwhelming amount of work and immediate feedback is supplied. C.'s favorite part is the cute but unobtrusive animations that appear when a question is answered correctly. To complete the animation, e.g. building a robot takes several problems to accomplish so he is motivated to keep working to meet a goal. Mom's favorite part is that it is self-grading and provides solutions with audio-visual explanations for all problems so that the student can review and understand why he missed a problem.

We've used 5 different Teaching Textbooks |

Our family has used 5 different levels of Teaching Textbooks and my children have loved every one of them. Not all of my children have found math easy, so when they were enthusiastic about Teaching Textbooks, I knew we had found a product that would work for our family. The explanations of the lessons are very clear and easy to understand, and the kids can do most of the work on their own, freeing me to help another child. Even though the curriculum is a bit pricey initially, it can be reused by younger siblings, making the cost per child more reasonable.

This product is easy to use and does a great job in explaining the lesson to the student. The student can work independently. That is helpful to my whole family. I will definitely purchase more for my other children. My only suggestion would be to ofter more of the same product for younger children!
