This collection was created for the times when young children are most alert and active. Featuring 10 songs by Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Handel and more.
Creating Pathways in the Brain
If you read the research you will discover that many experts believe that music not only effects emotions, but can actually create new pathways in your baby's brain. Scientists have shown that the billions of brain cells babies are born with need to form interconnections. The more a connection is used, the stronger the connection. A baby exposed to classical music, because of its complexity, will develop strong music-related connections. And while listening to classical music will not make a baby smarter, it does seem to turn on the part of the brain used for spatial skills.
Improved Spatial Skills
In adults that would mean that it would be easier to work a difficult puzzle quickly. Although the effect lasts only about an hour, the improvement is verifiable. Of course our babies are not yet solving jigsaw puzzles, but just think of how many spatial skills your baby is learning in his first year of life, like recognizing objects after they have been rotated into new positions. This ability to mentally rotate an object as well as recognizing mirrored images is a developed spatial skill. Relating size to distance is another.
Pleasing to Newborns and Octogenarians
So Smart musical CDs are some of the sweetest collections we have seen of award-winning classical music performed by live, world-class symphony orchestras. Although the musical selections have been assembled according to the typical response expected from babies, these CDs will please a wide range of musical palates from newborns to octogenarians. Play one today and see where your brain will take you!
