Sign About Play Time
Sign About Going Out

ASL Advocates for Babies
We have been ASL advocates ever since we saw firsthand the benefits of teaching sign language to a baby. Babies that can communicate their needs tend to be less frustrated, speak earlier, have a wider vocabulary, and often go on to have a higher than average literacy level.

Babies as Young as Seven Months Can Sign!
ASL opens up a world of communication for pre-verbal infants, toddlers, and children with special needs. Because babies are able to coordinate and control their hand muscles much earlier than their speech muscles, ASL allows babies as young as seven months to communicate and get a head start in social and intellectual development. Teaching your baby American Sign Language also strengthens the bond between baby and parent.

Lots of Baby Appeal
Over the past fifteen years we have sampled and sold a variety of ASL materials, most aimed at an older child or parent. While they are good and serve their purpose well, they miss the mark as far as baby-appeal. So we were more than delighted to stumble upon the Sign About Board Book Collection, with lots of cheery baby pictures demonstrating clear ASL signs. Alongside every illustration is a simple note explaining how each sign should be performed.

Engaging Illustrations
The adorable illustrations in the Sign About Board Book Collection accomplish the first step of signing, that of making a connection between the sign and what it means. And because the illustrations are so engaging, babies and toddlers will want to 'read' the books over and over again, accomplishing the second step towards learning ASL, that of repetition.

Charming, Clear, Affordable
Many baby signing groups, as well as the National Deaf Children's Society, have enthusiastically received Child's Play Baby Signing books. This Sign About Collection includes four absolutely gorgeous board books, each with forty signs. Charming, clear, and affordable, Sign Abouts are beautifully-crafted books that are a must for any new parent and are sure to become family favorites.

Timberdoodle Sign About Books December 15, 2011
Reviewer: Renita from Timberdoodle's Blogger Review Team
The Sign About Books are just adorable.  They are board books that are full of color and cute drawings.  They are appealing to little ones for the colors and to adults and older children for the easy to understand descriptions of the signs.  Since the descriptions are short it is easy to read them quickly and then teach them to you child.  We have already taught Bug "more", "please", "stop", "eat", "finished/all done", and we are working on "cup", "thank you", and "milk".  I just love seeing the light in her eyes when she understands the sign and then uses it to get what she wants.  There is nothing better than seeing the light bulb of understanding go on in their eyes.

These books are durable with tight bindings and thick pages that make it easy for little hands to turn them.  There is no danger of the littles tearing these pages while they are "reading" them.  Plus, with the set of four being only $18.95 they are affordable since they will last a long time and be handed down and used over and over again.

We love learning ASL in our family and the Sign About Board Book Collection is an excellent addition to our family’s library.  The books are well made and have great illustrations.  We love to snuggle on the couch and enjoy practicing our ASL signs while reading these books.  The Sign About Board Book Collection is an excellent value for the four large ASL board books.

Great for babies and older kids too! November 1, 2010
Reviewer: Misty Marr from Buckeye, AZ United States
The Sign About Board Book Collection is an outstanding addition to my baby books.  I was very impressed with these books.  All 5 of my children, from 6 months to almost 7, love them.  The signs are demonstrated by other baby and toddlers, so it attracts the attention of the little ones.  The signs are simply, yet clearly, explained, so that you are able to understand how to replicate them.  There are a generous amount of signs in these books, so you would be able to teach your children quite a lot before needing anything else.  The signs shown are practical ones that you would likely use on a regular basis.  This series is definitely worth the small investment.
