I was very impressed with the simplicity of the suggestions in this book. I am not a creative person when it comes to story telling, so I needed some help to encourage my kids. Just by giving my 8 year old some of these supplies she has created a host of elaborate stories, and has used some of these stories to convey emotions and feelings that have otherwise been hard to talk about. For my 7 year old with special needs, it is a bit more challenging to get him to create stories, however he likes to create the props themselves and we can sometimes coax him into trying to create an imaginative story to go with them. We have created paper city-scapes, "people" out of rocks and spools, and some story-starter cards (which have been the most fun for us). I highly recommend this book if you or your child struggle with imagination, or if you feel you need more inspiration for fun rainy-day activities.
