This is my son's favorite part of the preschool curriculum. He wants to cut more than anything else. The pictures are fun and the cutting progresses well in all the books.

3.5 year old begs for this! December 5, 2015

My 3.5 year old son asks to do the "cutting book" every day! These Kumon Cutting Skills books are a big hit. I really like how the pages get progressively more challenging, and I can see my son's confidence and skill with the scissors improving as he works his way through the book. As a bonus, he enjoys playing with the pages after he has cut them. (For example, he will fly the bird around after he has cut out the wings, or sail the ship.) At first I felt silly purchasing something for him to cut, but these have been well worth the cost.

I bought these for my daughter after having a great experience using them with my son a few years ago. She almost never follows the directions, but I don't really care. :) The point is that she has something that she is allowed to use her little scissors on! I love it because it helps to keep my little busy preschooler busy for a while while the older kiddos are doing school and keeps her from asking for a movie! I would definitely recommend these as well as the more advanced Kumon cutting and pasting workbooks, especially the jigsaw puzzles. Highly satisfied!!!

Didn't want to spend money October 11, 2014

Didn't want to spend money on "paper cutting" but my granddaughter needed the small muscle work. Well worth it - I never realized how much the paper texture could help; and this heavy duty stock makes it very "doable" for a beginner. These activities start out with simple straight cuts and spiral up in difficulty, which really encourages her sense of accomplishment.
