Watch Abel & Nehemiah Explain And Demonstrate How To Use Reptangles

Turtles That Snap
Colorful Reptangles by Fat Brain Toys are ingeniously shaped turtles that snap and slide together in over 100 geometric ways! If you want your child's curriculum to be mathematically rich, with unique opportunities to learn important math concepts while broadening and deepening their spatial thinking skills, Reptangles can be a key addition to your resources.

Scores of Symmetrical Shapes
Each Reptangles set contains 24 turtles in green, yellow, orange, red, purple and blue that can be snapped together to create scores of symmetrical structures. This unique math learning tool has been specifically designed to meet criteria compiled by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics that states that children in grades three to five should be able to identify three-dimensional shapes, explore congruence and similarity, recognize line and rotational symmetry in two- and three-dimensional shapes and build geometric objects.

Full-color Activity Book
These sturdy plastic turtles come with a full-color activity book that features more than 80 puzzles to unlock the mysteries of rotational symmetries, truncated octahedrons, lesser rhombicuboctahedrons and much more. Has there ever been a more appealing way to explore the world of geometry, design and construction?

Broad Range of Ages
But do not let their childlike colors and shapes mislead you. Reptangles are a serious manipulative, and the more perplexing models located at the end of the booklet are not for the fainthearted. Still, these large Reptangles are not just for older children. Younger children can sort, sequence, stack and explore patterns with these cheerful turtles while older siblings delve into more complex structures.

Recommended Age 6+
Reptangles pose no choking hazard but they can be difficult for little hands to snap together, so the recommended age is six and up.

Very versatile for building September 9, 2013
    Reviewer: ND mom
Bought this as part of our homeschool, and although we haven't used it specifically for math yet, my kids have enjoyed trying to build several of the suggestions in the booklet. My kids already are asking for another set so they can build something larger. Colorful, mildly resemble turtles. It's crazy how they can snap together in so many different ways! My six year old has a little difficulty getting them to hook together sometimes, you do have to line them up just right. Comes in a very sturdy storage box. Great for elementary thru high school.

Not our favorite Timberdoodle toy May 31, 2012
    Reviewer: Amy G
My sons were anxious to use these when they saw them in the box, but the excitement didn't last long. It's hard to understand the pictures they're supposed to try to replicate, and they just don't enjoy them that much. However, I will say that any time I give them the option to use these, they also have the option to use a wide variety of thinking games and toys we've purchased from Timberdoodle, so they have a lot of spectacular options. I don't think it's so much that this toy is bad as much as it's just not as great as some of the other ones we have.

    I like these turtles. February 1, 2012
Reviewer: John Lunger from Hayward, CA United States
I found connecting them a bit confusing. My kids have not set their hands on them. They are more enamored by their Zoologic and Snap Circuits and Simply Music.
I am hoping as the days go by they may find them fun and interesting. Maybe I will try and get them in the hands of my husband. He may be able to get the kids into them more. Oh wow! I just left them on the table and found my 7yrs old messing with them and making shapes with them. She apparently has not found them difficult to put together. I am happy now. I think they will be a hit once they figure out all the things they can do with them.

Love these turtles! October 3, 2011
Reviewer: Susan from SC United States
I can't believe the Reptangles aren't priced higher!  The recommended age is for 6+, but they could easily be for preschoolers for color recognition, sorting, counting, building, etc.  They are larger than they appear onscreen, so they are easy for any size hand to manipulate.  This is a toy that could be played with for years.  I love the fact that it comes with the book that identifies the different shapes and explains how to build each one.  It doesn't just leave it for you to figure out.  It is great that you can see the shapes as they really are and not just on paper.  Reptangles can be played with independently (which I love) or with a sibling (do I hear teamwork?)  Thanks Timberdoodle!  Love your site!

Good for Creative Play September 26, 2011
Reviewer: Tara Katzman from Brick, NJ United States
My daughter really enjoys playing with these. The way that the connect is vey very tiny, so it might be harder for some kids to build with them, but with my help she loves it. It comes with an instruction manual that shows different ideas of what to build with it and it can easily provide hours of entertainment. Again, I wish they were a bit easier to connect but other than that they are a great, bright and colorful toy.
