How Does It Work?
When the putty is stretched, molded, or shaped, these magnets all face in random directions. This cancels out their magnetic charge and Strange Attractor behaves like any other Thinking Putty. However, in the presence of a magnetic field, the micromagnets begin to align. Once they are facing the same direction, their individual field lines join forces to create a truly magnetic Thinking Putty.

When a strong Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnet is held close to Strange Attractor, you probably won't feel anything at first. Fear not. Close your eyes and count to five. Pop! When one of our children was a preschooler, we received the best advice a parent of a kinesthetic child could receive: Let her wiggle. And wiggle she did. I don't think she sat for schoolwork for many years. But sometimes pirouettes and somersaults can be a distraction to other children, especially if you are dealing with a mixed bag of modalities.
