Get your family together and create a video to win a Timberdoodle Gift Certificate of up to $300. Video Contest Details Make A Video Produce a short video that demonstrates Timberdoodle products, expounds upon the service you've received at Timberdoodle, or explains the pros and cons of any of our curricula. All videos must relate to Timberdoodle or Timberdoodle's products, and must mention Timberdoodle plainly in the video to be eligible for entry. (The simple rules are spelled out below.) You Pick The Winners On July 14th, voting will open and everyone will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite videos. The video with the most votes by July 21st wins a $300 Timberdoodle gift certificate! Second Place receives a $200 Timberdoodle gift certificate, and Third Place is worth a $100 Timberdoodle gift certificate. Everybody Wins Each participant will receive a prize for participating. When you send us your video you will receive a $5 gift certificate good toward any purchase; even of those items which never seem to go on sale. The winners will receive gift certificates in the amout of: First Place: $300 Second Place: $200 Third Place: $100 Enter Timberdoodle's Video Contest In 3 Simple Steps Step One – Today until July 14th Make A Video Make a video that mentions Timberdoodle and post it on your favorite online video site. (Don't know where to start? Try Tangle, Facebook or Homeschool View Tube..) Most importantly, send us a link to that video at videocontest@timberdoodle.com. Entries must be received at that email address by July 14th to be eligible for the contest! Step Two – July 14th - July 21st Vote Browse our Facebook page where all the videos will be located and select your favorites. Send family and friends a link to your video so they can vote. They love you; they'll vote for you, right? Don't have a facebook account? Don't worry, you can simply email us your vote and we'll add it to the online tally at the end of the contest. I have questions! How do I make a video review? These days most people have a video camera, or at least know someone to borrow one from. We suggest sitting down with your children and brainstorming ideas. Remember, there are no bad ideas when brainstorming (ok, there are some bad ideas). Once you've come up with a couple good ideas, see which one is most creative, exciting, and practical (if the video costs $1000 to make you might reconsider). Make a plan. Seriously. This will cut down on fussing and fighting as well as save time. Record your video. If you have a newer pc or mac you probably have built in video editing software. This can add extra flare but is not required. Finally, upload your video and send a link to videocontest@timberdoodle.com. This is very important. How do I post a video? We recommend either using your Facebook account, Youtube, Tangle(a family-safe version of youtube), or Homeschool View Tube. What if I don't own a camera? Many laptops have web cameras built in or a web camera can be purchased at your local mart for less than $20. Rather than seeing this as a limitation, use it to be creative. Sure you are tethered to a computer but what can you do with the lighting or background (make sure your video is bright enough to see)? What if I don't own a computer? This will make entering our video contest a little difficult. Find a friend, family member, or neighbor and see if you can trade some of your homemade bread for a little computer time. What if I don't have any family or friends? We are sorry because that is sad. Find a local church and plug in. Make friends. That is probably more important than entering our contest. What if I don't want to make a video? That is ok. You can still go to our facebook page and enjoy the many videos made by your fellow homeschoolers. What if I have a question you didn't answer?
