The Solar System Puzzleball is the most ingenious way to teach about our eight planets. This true-to-life set involves building eight stunning planet puzzleballs ranging from 2" to 4.75" in diameter and ranging from 24 to 144 pieces. The strong and durable plastic puzzle pieces fit together very well and can be built over and over again. By assembling each puzzleball, your child becomes intimately acquainted with every planet's distinctive look. Also included for size comparison is a cardboard disc that represents the sun. While not nearly as spectacular as any of the planets your child builds, it does provide a good size illustration. The set also includes a 38.5" x 29.5" paper mat to display the planets on and cardboard rings to slip around Saturn and Uranus. After everyone has had a chance to build the puzzleballs and race each other for the best assembly times, use the fishing line provided to make a planet mobile. A fascinating booklet about our solar system, with a bit of erroneous dating that we encourage you to overlook, is included. With 624 puzzle pieces, this is a rare combination of both science and thinking skills in one package.
