With a combination of text and graphics Precepts of Anatomy and Physiology will not only teach your older child about the interdependency of body systems bone, tissue and organs of the incredible human body. It will  also delve into that awkward topic, reproduction. It is a judgment call, how much you teach and when but if your teens are ready for a more mature look at the origin of human life, this is the most age appropriate we have seen. All the nitty gritty details a teen needs to know, with the author's much appreciated bias as to the necessity of marriage as a prerequisite.

What the publisher recommends: "The Precepts of Anatomy and Physiology can serve as a stand-alone unit study worthy of 1/2 high school transcript credit in anatomy, or may be included as an adjunct to the Principles, Theories and Precepts of Biology course for 1 or 1 1/2 biology credits, depending on local or state policies for assigning transcript credit for high school courses."

Just what we were looking for! October 10, 2011
Reviewer: Ladonna Colton from Wilton, CA United States
We used this to "round out" their Biology Series. Very glad we did. It was a concentrated, but not laborious, look at Anatomy and Physiology. Very clear and useful. It would make a nice addition to any curriculum where you wanted to take a brief overview of A & P. Be aware--this is not a year long or even a semester course. But it is a great addition. If you have a eager learner as we did you might add it to the Biology series to extend that course for the year.

Great alternative to other science texts October 3, 2011
Reviewer: Laureen Eichelberger from N. Huntingdon, PA United States
I bought this set for my ninth grade daughter and she is very happy with it.  The format is very easy to use, the text is not overwhelming, and it is understandable.  She struggled with other wordy science programs as her interest is just not in this field of study and this helps us meet the requirements, gain knowledge of the subject, and keep her from feeling overwhelmed.
