I just love our pathway reading books. |

I just love our pathway reading books. What I like most is that they teach good morals and are a progressive reading alternative. You can also shop around and find work books that go along with this reader. Now we have our required reading, phonics and language art's all in one. Even if you are just looking for something age appropriate to read to your children at night time this would be a good start. It can open up some good conversations. If you are worried about what your child is reading this is great way to put some good wholesome reading back into their lives. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

By far my favorite way to teach reading skills!! |

Pathway Readers are by far my favorite way to teach reading skills while at the same time discussing all the true-to-life character dilemmas faced by all children growing up in close-knit families today. The children portrayed in the readers are real kids, not perfect by any means, but they demonstrate a teachable spirit when corrected, and a thoughtfulness of others' feelings. The parents in the stories are wise and kind and worthy of the children's respect. Some of my most cherished memories with my kids growing up are our reading times around the Pathway Readers. The reason I would not buy them again is because they are tough hardback books, and aside from a few crayon marks, are still good as new after all my kids read from them, and can be passed on to my grown children to use with my grandkids (the first one will be old enough in about 2 years!) On second thought, I may be buying them again after all, if my kids don't live close enough to pass them around, or if they have kids the same age (don't want to start any bickering between siblings after all these years of character training!) :-)

The best "first book" set I have found |

The Pathway Readers are the best first book set I have found for my children when they are just taking off reading and ready for chapter books. There is absolutely nothing objectionable in the books and really keep a child's interest. My son especially loved Peter and Rachel and was eager to see what was happening on their farm everyday. No matter what curriculum you are using, these books work well - especially over the summer to keep up the reading skills.

...soon were beloved by my own children! |

I first used the Pathway readers with my oldest child 15 years ago. We are now in our 16th year of homeschooling, and I think this is the ONLY product I have used with each and every child! We love the stories, especially in the lower grade readers. In fact, some of these stories are MY favorites that I actually look forward to reading again with my youngest. Each and every story is well written and well developed, often with several shorter stories combining to form a longer narrative, which allows for true character development and interest for the reader. These stories are moral without being preachy, and interesting without resorting to more modern themes. The main characters, Peter and Rachel, seem like very real children, and were soon beloved by my own children. We love Pathway readers!
