Old Story New: Ten-Minute Devotions to Draw Your Family to God
Old Story New continues the journey begun in Long Story Short, guiding families through 78 New Testament stories while helping children see how God's plan of redemption unfolds through the life, death, resurrection, and teachings of Jesus.
Designed for family devotions, this gospel-centered devotional requires just 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Each reading combines Scripture, discussion questions, biblical application, and clear teaching that helps children understand not only what happened in the New Testament but also why it matters.
One of the book's greatest strengths is its accessibility. The lessons are substantial enough to spark meaningful conversations with older children while remaining understandable for younger listeners. Helpful discussion questions—and answers for parents—make it easy to lead family devotions with confidence.
Throughout the book, Christ remains at the center. Rather than presenting Bible stories as disconnected events, Old Story New helps families trace the larger story of God's rescue plan and see how the New Testament fulfills the promises introduced throughout Scripture.
Whether used during homeschool Bible time, family worship, breakfast, or bedtime, the consistent format makes it easier to establish a regular devotional habit without adding significant preparation to a busy day.
For families seeking a Christ-centered devotional that builds biblical literacy, encourages thoughtful discussion, and helps children understand the bigger story of Scripture, Old Story New provides a faithful and practical guide through the New Testament.

Another Great Devotional!
Tasha G.
This was a great companion to the "Long Story Short" devotional. They both break down the bible in a way that is easy to digest and understand. They are amazing for kids and adults alike, especially those newer to Christianity.

Our girls are so excited about these little morning devos. They’re great for our preschooler all the way up to our senior. It’s the best 5-10 mins to start our day.

Great devotional resource. Would recommend to anyone for a family devotional. Would work well even with children in different age brackets. The pages on ours are not cut smoothly, but it doesn't bother me.

Simple devotional resource for the family

I have been using this book as our devotionals in the morning during or after breakfast. Sure, we don't read it every day like I would prefer... but we do cover it most days. It really only takes 10 minutes and is easy to follow. So it is easier to make it a habit. Not that we need to fit God's Word into our days. But it is important for me to have something simple like this to remain consistent in God's Word with the kids. Lots of lessons in this book. It'll take over a year to complete, even while doing it every days.

I am using this devotional as a guide for my junior church curriculum. I really like the object lessons and how it relates each lesson back to Jesus. I plan to divide each week into two lessons.I'm anxious to get started.
