As children develop, they will move beyond simple matching activities and begin seeking more challenging puzzles and patterns. The miniLUK High IQ Set builds on the same self-correcting system as bambinoLUK while introducing more complex logic, reasoning, and problem-solving activities.
Designed for ages 5 and up, miniLUK includes a durable controller board with 12 numbered tiles and a built-in self-checking system. Children complete an activity, flip the controller over, and compare the pattern on the back to the answer key to check their work independently.
The workbooks gradually increase in difficulty, beginning with simpler exercises and progressing toward more challenging activities that encourage careful thinking and repeated practice.
Topics throughout the series strengthen skills such as visual perception, logical thinking, spatial awareness, concentration, language development, and early math reasoning.
Because of the many workbook options available, families can continue using the system across multiple skill levels and subject areas.
The compact format makes miniLUK easy to use for independent work, enrichment activities, travel, quiet time, or extra practice between lessons. Please note: This series is produced by a secular publisher, so parents may wish to preview content before use.
How to Use miniLUK
-
The easiest way to begin is by selecting workbooks based on the skill-dot ratings. Start with simpler books and gradually increase difficulty as your child becomes more comfortable with the system.
- 1 Skill Dot: Best starting point Teddy and Mausi, Cheeky in the Summertime, Count to 6
- 1.5 Skill Dots: Slightly more challenging Visual Discrimination Games, Cheeky in the Wintertime
- 2 Skill Dots: More advanced matching and reasoning Perception Games, Brain Jogging, Concentration Training, Count to 10
- 2.5 Skill Dots: Increased complexity More Brain Jogging, Concentration Training 2, Playing with Colors and Shapes
- 3 Skill Dots: Most challenging Basic Geometry and More
- Some families find it helpful to group books by difficulty level so children can move naturally through the progression.
- Aim for approximately 5–6 new puzzle pages each week while allowing plenty of opportunities for review and repetition.
- Because the controller is self-checking, many children quickly learn to work independently. Once a workbook becomes easy, simply move to the next skill level.
- The goal is not to move through books quickly. The goal is to build confidence, independence, and consistent problem-solving habits over time.

The miniLUK High IQ Set is absolutely fantastic! It’s such a fun and engaging way for kids to learn while actually enjoying the process. The hands-on format keeps my child focused, and I love that it encourages independent thinking and problem-solving skills without feeling like “schoolwork.”

Timeless

I grew up with LÜK in Germany and was so happy to find the miniLUK High IQ Set for my daughter. It’s just as fun and educational as I remember—great for building logic, focus, and problem-solving skills. The self-checking system is brilliant, and my daughter loves using it. A classic, high-quality learning tool that really works!

Thrilled for another Luk set!
Karolyn B.
After the Luk set that she did in preschool my daughter had been begging for more Luk. Winner winner that the Mini set comes with 1st grade!!! It’s confusing to understand how these sets work when you don’t have them in front of you, but they are really a neat concept. The student gets to self-check their work and can do them independently. The puzzles are not easy so the minutes they take will give you valuable time to make the next meal your family needs or pick up an area of your home or what not. Ideal homeschool subject!

Excellent For Critical Thinking
Travis H.
I love these brain puzzles and really enjoy sitting down with my daughter when there is one that really challenges her and I get to watch her figure it out. This uses so many different aspects of critical thinking, logic, patterns, math and it is colorful and fun. It's a great way to break up activities, start the day, or just have her be able to pull out for some quiet time.

Multilayered puzzles
Danielle F.
My 5 year old likes it better than my 6 year old, mostly I think because after the first few puzzles they kind of seem the same, but I still think it's worth it. They both do it happily and since I don't have to supervise I can work on a different subject with the other. Also, they love flipping it over and having the correct pattern.

This is such a unique thinking game. My boys just love trying the different challenges. Some of my boys have learning disorders, and these really help them with their thinking skills. This is such a great product!
