Thank you, Annie! |

Little Annie goes beyond keeping elbows off the table and saying please. With sections about how to treat elders, welcome guests, meet people, answer the phone, and more, this course is a well-rounded study of social graces. There is an applicable Bible verse supporting each lesson, useful for memory work. The art lessons range from cutsie to true lessons. In truth, my five older children (2/3-11/12) learned a lot from this book, although the over 8 group did not enter into these lessons with...grace. They all had fun with the art lessons, and enjoyed the practice sessions we added. My children's main complaint was that the book frequently claimed that "Annie always" or "Annie never," both of which the children pointed out as fallacies and bragadocious...and I couldn't argue. I simply orally edited those sections. We used one book for all five participants, either making copies or working on blank paper. Truly a delightful book!

We enjoyed using this book. For younger kids, it's not self-instructional; older elementaries could do it on their own but aren't always self-motivated. I appreciated its lessons very much and found it a fun way to incorporate manners and consideration for others with a fun art activity.
