Ligretto is the first game that allows more players than you may have room for. Ligretto is fast-paced and lively; instead of taking turns, all players play simultaneously. The aim of the game is to discard your cards faster than all the other players. Each Player Has His Own Card Deck Every Ligretto player gets a unique deck of cards that are his alone throughout the game. What his deck does have in common with everyone else's is that each card has a number and a color. Plays Fast, but Watch Your Opponents When Ligretto starts, players rapidly discard cards to the middle of the table, building colored piles in ascending numerical order according to color, and only starting new piles with a '1' card. This is not a game for the methodical or those who love to over-think strategy. Ligretto will help your children develop numeric recognition and a slew of strategy skills as experienced players find they need to watch their opponents' plays as well as their own. Similar to Dutch Blitz, but Easier to Read Extremely popular in Germany, if you have played Dutch Blitz then you've played Ligretto, as they are both share the same roots. The only significant difference between the two games is that the Ligretto cards tend to be easier to read, which is a bonus for both ends of the age spectrum. Each Pack Allows Four Players -- The Complete Set Lets Twelve Play! Because each player must have a deck of cards unique to him, Ligretto comes in red, green, and blue packs. Each pack, containing cards for four players, has a different set of markings on the card backs. Buying all three packs allows up to twelve players to play at a time.
