While they made a trip to Grandma's more pleasant, maintaining the bulbs was not. More nerve-racking than that was the fear that they would inadvertently shine the lights in the rear-view mirror or at another car, temporarily blinding/distracting the driver. After a few hair-raising episodes we had to limit book lights to older children only. Had the LightWedge been available it would have eliminated both issues. Light On The Page, Not In Your Eyes! The LED illumination means no bulbs to burn out. The distortion-free optical-grade acrylic lens spills the light onto the page, not into anyone's eyes. The thin lens sits flat over the page you wish to read, is hefty enough to hold open the pages of many books, and can also double as a bookmark. Weighing just 8.5 ounces, the LightWedge is easy to pack and carry. At 7.4" x 5.5", the LightWedge seems bigger than the typical clip-on book light, but once you start to use it you will be pleased with how much easier it is to manage than the bulkier flashlight on a clip. This has been the best book light October 20, 2009 Reviewer: Jennifer H. from Simi Valley, CA   My husband can read late into the evening and I can sleep. We have had the light for 2 years now and it is still going strong. It is durable with no replacing light bulbs. Each member of our family wish they could have one. Bought for use in the car October 20, 2009 Reviewer: Judi J. from Big Sandy, MT   We live very rurally, so being in the car after dark is not rare.  We were looking for a light the kids could use without blinding us in the front seat, or other drivers on the highway.  We really like the Light Wedge!  The light is strong enough to light up the pages and even the area around the kiddos, but not a beam that can blind others.  The only complaint I have is that in both of the LightWedges we own, there are not 2 levels of brightness,as advertised, just one.  Otherwise, we really like this product and recommend it highly. A very good buy for the money! October 20, 2009 Reviewer: Denise P. from Sunnyvale, CA   This is not necessarily an item for a child unless this is a child who knows how to care for things responsibly.  It is really great for the responsible child who needs to continue reading when it's dark, and is sharing a room, with a younger child/baby that needs all the lights out to sleep.  All the adults I have given this to have raved about this item in both the paperback and original sizes!  It's not clunky like other book lights, and one has quite a bit of reading time before the batteries need replacing.  This is not an item that will be heading for the junk pile with other book lights.  A very good buy for the money! A very practical product! October 20, 2009 Reviewer: Anonymous person   Our family are readers! My wife lives in one kind of a book or another. We tried at least 6 other kinds/types of reading light for the car and they all had too much glare for the driver (me). Problem solved. Am on the site now to buy my third lightwedge!
