Lauri is a leader in innovative teaching aids for developing reading. As children manipulate the three-dimensional bright crepe foam rubber letters, they increase visual and tactile perception, shape discrimination, and hand-eye coordination. However, if you were to buy only one Lauri puzzle, make it one of these. Educators argue about what to teach first - capitals or lower case. We chose capitals.
For the youngest, think of these as fabulous perception puzzles (just think of how similar E & F, O & Q, R & P, and M & N are). By 2, most toddlers are able to pick out each letter. Older children can match lower case and capitals, put together words, and use the puzzles for phonics games. You will not find a better "touch, feel, and fit" alphabet, or a more durable one for those children who delight in pounding the pieces in. And they all do, don't they? For home schooling, this puzzle is an essential. 2" tall letters! Includes a sturdy storage tray.
Please Note: The colors on the puzzle pieces and backgrounds vary. Color combinations may be different than those pictured online.
Another outstanding component of Timberdoodle's Preschool Core Curriculum!
Kids can feel shapes and learn sequences with these classics Lauri crepe rubber alphabet puzzles. Letters are 2" tall and fit into an 11 1/2 " square puzzle frame. A picture pattern helps kids match letters. Just remove the pattern to vary the challenge. With the letter's unique textures - bumpy on 1 side and smooth on the other - kids learn to correctly distinguish between b and d to follow a in the puzzle frame.
