Knight Moves: A strategic game of precision and pageantry

This elegant wood game works both as a fabulous introduction to chess and as a stand-in for basketball tactics. The objective is for each of the two players to move his sphere to the opposite side of the playing field. Just as in basketball, the sphere can be passed from one game piece to another, unless the opposing side has blocked the move. The sphere can be moved in any direction, but the cubes must be moved like knights on a chessboard, and just like basketball, the actual cube holding the sphere cannot travel.

Your child chooses whether to move his piece to block his opponent's passing options or to advance his own sphere across the board. With a bit of strategy, he will do both. Fast-moving and engaging, this game offers a nice mix of offensive and defensive play for two players ages eight and over. Includes one wooden playing surface, ten wooden cubes, two metal spheres, and instructions.
