Worth every penny!! |

When I bought this I was a little overwhelmed by the price but it was worth every penny! My son has Asperger's and not only did he love the engineering and physics we learned but it was also a tremendous help in things like patience, perserverence, following directions, etc. This is a fantastic set with several different smaller sets included so that you really get lots of physics curriculum units plus, the grand reward at the end, building and analyzing the huge structure at the end. We also used this kit to discuss the cost of construction by assigning each piece a dollar value and each connection a "labor" cost. A good exercise in money and planning (could we make a better and less expensive model of the same thing). You could really almost do a whole year of homeschool based on this curriculum (math, writing, science, reading, etc). We have also found the people at Knex very helpful in terms of sending us replacement parts, extra little things we wanted, etc., often at no charge. Excellent product and worth every penny.... I think that we will save up for the big bridge set next....

This Knex set is absolutely the best construction set that we have tried. Although my kids love playing with their legos, they really learn from playing with these Knex. The little lesson cards they have to make different machines & structures is such an amazing hands on learning tool. Take away the cards and the kids really use their imagination to create their own inventions. If my kids could only have one construction set, this would have to be it.

A big investment, but much more lasting |

My children (5) have all thoroughly enjoyed this set. It has provided hours of creative play and can be used again and again. They learn valuable skills while using it - planning, creativity, physics, cooperation, innovation, following directions. We've loved it. It was a big investment, but much more lasting than many other toys.

So many possibilities... |

K'nex has put together a great package with this set. We have used this set at home and at a homeschool coop. There are a lot of opportunities for trial and error learning with this set as they work to apply some of the bridge building theories to there own structures (ie- triangles make a bridge stronger!) which is always fun to watch. The simple machine set is very engaging too and had me learning right along with them. Best of all it lasts for years. We have been using ours for 3 years and we are still learning new things from the teachers curriculum and I see no end to the learning that can happen from using this tool. It is truely a great investment.
