Kid-O Bilibo
If you want to improve your baby's basic motor skills, simply rock or spin him every day. In
Active Baby, Healthy Brain, the author stresses that gently rocking and spinning babies provides needed vestibular stimulation. The vestibular system governs our sense of balance, and the more vestibular stimulation babies receive (within reason), the more quickly their physical abilities develop. Not only that, but the balance and coordination that vestibular stimulation produces have now been linked to children's reading and writing readiness.
Award Winning
There are many ways to accomplish vestibular stimulation.
Active Baby, Healthy Brain makes several suggestions, but because children generally want and need more stimulation than adults, we knew we needed to provide you with an inexpensive means to accomplish this. The award-winning Bilibo, which has all the child-development experts and learning specialists applauding, is our solution.
Balance Training For Babies And Toddlers
Even tiny babies, when properly supported (please see our warning below), will benefit from Bilibo's peaceful rocking and gentle spinning. For older babies and toddlers, just sitting in the Bilibo, with its round bottom disrupting balance, is great for vestibular input and balance control. Or you can turn the Bilibo upside down and they'll work new muscles as they try to keep their balance.
Brain Building Active Play
Originally designed with open-ended creativity in mind, Bilibo's shape encourages older children to play and have fun in an active and imaginative way. Not only do they burn off all that extra energy while spinning, but they also become more coordinated, flexible, and, as research has demonstrated, better prepared for reading and writing. Bilibo is definitely a tool for your baby's developing brain!
Doubles As A Chair, Snow Toy, Bucket...
As your child gets older, the Bilibo doubles as a chair, doll's cradle, sand pail, snow toy, or a fast way to haul Legos from one room to another. Because the egg-like shape easily bears the weight of an adult, Bilibos have also been used as an emergency stepping stool. They can even serve as an impromptu ice bucket at family reunions.
Made of thick, hard plastic, and available in many bold colors, Bilibos are nearly indestructible and fit together perfectly for storage.
Important Safety Note:
Because of the difficulty getting in and out of a Bilibo without tripping, it is not designed or recommended for children under eighteen months. However, with proper supervision and assistance, we feel Bilibo can be a valuable tool for even your smallest family members. Nonetheless, legally we must not make any claims as to its safety, and we strongly urge you to consider these three things before using: First, make sure that the baby's airway stays open. If his chin rests on his chest, he is not in a safe position and may not be able to breathe. (A carefully positioned small towel behind his shoulders can help position his head at a safe angle.) Secondly, wildly spinning or rocking an infant will cause serious harm. Use the Bilibo gently, keeping a hand on it at all times. Finally, never leave your baby unattended with this tool.
