Timberdoodle's review

Introduce your students to algebra in simple terms. Key to Algebra offers a unique, proven way to introduce algebra to your students. New concepts are explained in simple language, and examples are easy to follow. Word problems relate algebra to familiar situations, helping students understand abstract concepts. Students develop understanding by solving equations and inequalities intuitively before formal solutions are introduced.

About the Key To... series:
The Key To... series was developed by the same folks who produce Miquon Math. Though not manipulative dependent, there are scads of illustrations to make the concepts crystal clear. There is also a lot of white space, large type, and only one concept is presented per page.

The Key to ... books are not only easy to learn from, but also to follow along with if you, the teacher, are a little foggy on these topics! These books are self-directed, which means your child works independently at his own pace. What will you do with all your spare time?!?

Answer books are included in each pack, and the answers are clearly worked out, in case you need to bluff your way through!! More than 5 million of these workbooks have been bought since their creation over 30 years ago! Most workbooks are printed on recycled paper.

Non-intimidating algebra! January 14, 2013
Reviewer: Gina Mac
I had my oldest daughter go through these books the summer before taking Algebra 1. With there being so much variation in curriculum, I found it truly bridged grade school and high school math. More than anything, I think it helped establish a good attitude in my daughter towards more advanced math because these books felt "easy" to her. She's now looking forward to calculus, and this is my daughter who was more interested in literature. She felt like it gave her an advantage over her peers.

Easy to read and understand November 5, 2008
Reviewer: LaVonne F. from Laurel, MT
The Key To mathematics books, though black and white, held my girls' attention and they found them easy to read and understand to complete the exercises.  My first experience with them was about 1995 and I have purchased them again this year 2008 for my younger daughter.

Great for multiple grades! October 23, 2008
Reviewer: Cynda M. from Columbia, KY
The Key To Math series has been perfect for my son who has wanted to learn math mostly on his own. He talks about "what they are teaching me" even though all he has is workbooks. The only thing I've had to do is check his work, and the answer keys make that task very easy. This is a great program for a student who is "advanced" or "behind" since there are no grade levels.

Highly recommend October 18, 2008
Reviewer: Heidi J. from Plains, MT
Our family has loved the "Key to..." books.  They are nicely paced, thorough in their coverage of principles, easy to use, and reasonably priced.  I would highly recommend them as a supplement to any math curriculum, or as a stand alone in teaching specific concepts.
