An Unusually Excellent Allegory
Keeping Holiday is an excellent after-the-holidays book, or for anytime when a child gets a taste of something better and wants to capture it forever. Typically I don't care much for allegories; even the better known ones make me restless. But Keeping Holiday has so much more spiritual substance than others, addressing topics critical for a better understanding of who God is.

Incarnation, Election and Temptation
Although the two cousins in the story encounter brutal difficulties, they become even more resolved to know the Founder of Holiday. Incarnation, election, and temptation are woven throughout this story as the young boy searches for the only One who is able to give him a perpetual pass to the "real Holiday."

Ideal for Families to Wrestle Through Together
Written for eight- to twelve-year-olds, Keeping Holiday is a book that families should read together, wrestling along the way with these deeper truths.
