Timberdoodle's review
Jump In
By the time your child hits middle school you will be glad to find an easy-to-use creative writing program that is aimed at independent learning. Jump Inís illustrated workbook, lots of white space, large font, and short incremental daily assignments camouflage the workhorse that it is, teaching your child how to write persuasive papers, expository essays, descriptions, narration, and poetry.

Note: To build persuasive writing skills, Jump In encourages your child to write about any controversial topic of their choosing. Two suggested topics, among many others, are abortion and homosexual marriages. We feel that in most families this will be age-appropriate, and that Jump In, written from a Christian perspective, will not be offensive to you. However, if you have never discussed these issues with your child, you will want to be aware of their inclusion in Jump In.

Buy it today!! September 22, 2015

Love love love this book! I have looked for writing instruction for many years and this is the best I've seen. We have 10 children and our first 3 kids to try this book out this year love it. They are gaining confidence every day and learning to love writing. A side note about the quality of the workbook, the paper is bright white and texture of the paper is heavy weight and very smooth. It even feels like it is excellent quality, which makes opening it up to learn from even more of a treat. The author is compassionate and gentle with reluctant writers, and draws them in in a very intentional way. Buy this workbook, you won't be disappointed.

We will be trying this July 1, 2015

We will be trying this out for the following school year. I have an 8th grader who is a reluctant writer and a 5th grader who is an eager one. I can't wait to try it with both of them. Bonus that I get to combine grade level, that always eases the load.
