Write like a King – Pass on a Legacy!
With the explosion of laptops, tablets and smart phones, grocery lists and workbooks may be the only times you and your children actually put pen to paper. In Deuteronomy 17:18 God commanded the kings of Israel to hand-write their own copy of His book of the law. With Journibles The 17:18 Series we can do likewise.
Slow Down and Savor God's Words
Research has shown that at best we retain only 10 percent of what we read. By mid-day most of us have already forgotten what our morning Bible reading consisted of. But Journibles not only forces all of us to slow down and savor God’s words to us, but the sheer act of writing His words helps to impress them more deeply on our souls.
Designed With the Scriptures in Mind
Each hardback Journible in the 17:18 series has chapter and verse numbers on the right-hand pages. Not just randomly positioned, each verse has been spaced according to its length. And because there is a designated spot for each verse you will never face the agony of running out of notebook space before the end of a book.
One Side Reserved for Personal Journaling
The lined journaling (left-hand) side of each Journible has been intentionally left blank, though occasionally there is a question very lightly printed there to guide your thoughts. Use those questions or ignore them entirely; the printing is so faint that you can write over them without difficulty. The journaling side can become a collection of your child’s thoughts and questions in regards to the passage on the facing page. Or ask your child to finish each sentence; “What God said to me… What I said to God…” A parent or grandparent can earmark a Journible for an individual child, using the left-hand side of the book for personal insights for that child in relation to the corresponding verses. Who would not cherish such a handwritten legacy?
From Passive to Invested Participants
Hand a Journibles out at the start of each new Bible Study and see how each individual’s participation skyrockets. By writing out the week’s verses and compiling appropriate questions, members are transformed from passive listeners to invested participators with valuable insights and opinions. Members can even record ideas brought out by their peers to explore later. Or use a Journible, especially the Gospel of John, with a new believer that you are discipling. The questions that arise from his writing of God’s Word will give you direction as you shepherd him.
Linger Over God's Word
Make this the year you linger over God’s word, and let Journibles make that possible.
FAQ's about Journibles The 17:18 Series
What Bible Version are they? Because these books only contain the reference numbers and no text, any version of the Bible will work.
Why not use a cheaper journal from Wal-mart? You certainly can do that, but here are some things to consider. Unlike cheaper journals that just glue their edges resulting in pages separating and falling out, the Journible pages are both glued and stitched, preventing lost pages. The paper itself in the Journibles is higher quality to prevent ink bleed through. The Journibles are hardback books with the name of the book imprinted on both the cover and the spine. Finally, and frankly the most persuasive in my mind, is that each book is appropriately sized to contain all the verses. So I don’t need to ulcerate about how many verses per page, does the book have enough pages to complete the process, or will I have to scrunch the verses together for the last few chapters? Knowing that this has all been thought through makes me all the more eager to get started.
