Great books! |

We have been using this series of books for several years, rotating through the books by year. The children always look forward to our evening reading time. Although the stories are fictional, they give us an idea of what things may have been like in Bible times as well as allowing us to be part of the wonder of the birth of Christ. Highly recommended!

I bought these books for my sisters after absolutely LOVING it for our family this advent! I bought it becasue of the great reviews I read from Timberdoodle, and I have yet to go wrong with anything I have bought from you!! It left us all on the edge of our seats, the kids BEGGED us to read it every night and were SOO disappointed when we finished it! Thanks for bringing it back!

Yippee! An Advent My Family Loves! |

I was not looking to buy another advent book. The last two were a flop. I tried a couple years ago to add advent as a meaningful tradition, but I seemed to be the only one interested, so I let it go. Then I saw the reviews for Jotham and decided to give it a try.
Wow! We were hooked from the first night. My daughter asks to read it each night. My husband even stays awake for it. My oldest even went to tears last night when she thought we were going to put her to bed before we read for the night, a misunderstanding.
Point is, it is interesting and full of great explanations about how Jesus is the promised Messiah, and what that means for us today. Great!

Years later, this book still speaks to me |

This was one of the best stories to read during Christmas season as it fleshes out the feel of what it would have been like to actually be there when Christ was born and the story is so exciting (some parts are a little scary) my children couldn't wait to read the next one. The reflections at the end of each chapter truly bring Christ into the season. Years after reading this book, the part of the "runaway" crying out for Jehovah still speaks to my heart.
