Timberdoodle's review
Created by internationally recognized puzzle inventor Ivan Moscovich, a former prisoner in Auschwitz concentration camp, Ivan's Hinge is the hardest puzzle we sell. And yet, it remained one of our best sellers at 2012 homeschool conferences, purchased as often for brilliant spouses as it was for know-it-all teens. The design is ingenious, yet simple. Just choose a card, then fold, loop, bend, and twist Ivan's Hinge to match the pattern--that is, if you are able to. The cards can be solved, but they require some serious visual-spatial skills, while the articulating joints make Ivan's Hinge an irresistible combination of perplexing puzzle and soothing fidget toy. Ivan's Hinge includes not only the brightly-colored hinged manipulative, but also fifty-six colorful challenges printed on sturdy cards.

Fold, loop, bend, twist, and turn to find a solution!
Patterned challenge cards invite curiosity, logic, and determination
Brainteaser and mind-builder--refines visual-spatial skills

Challenging! Hours and hours of play... January 14, 2014
Reviewer: Bianca M.
Better for an older kid. :) A caveat, my spacial reasoning skills aren't so good. This is a brain twister! Bought for my 8 year old for Christmas. She can physically manipulate the hinge, but getting it into the right pattern is too difficult for her. Some extremely bright children with engineering-type brains will be able to use this, butI think it's a better choice for older teens and adults. (This is likely the reason it is included in the 12th grade curriculum!) Ivan's hinge is well-crafted and brightly colored. We're saving it for later and look forward to being able to do the puzzles! :)(Grandma and Grandpa both tried this as well as Mom and Dad, and none of us were able toFigure it out...it's a tricky one!)
