Greek Alphabet Code Cracker
View a sample chapter of The Greek Alphabet Code Cracker
The Greek language is the basis of most of the technical terminology in both science and medicine; it is also the source of about twenty percent of the words in our English language. The first step in learning Greek is mastering the ancient and mysterious Greek alphabet. The easiest way we have found to do so is by using this gem of a book, Greek Alphabet Code Cracker.

Letter Recognition and Pronunciation
Using children's natural attraction to adventure and secret codes, the author has compiled an engaging workbook that children will race to complete. By learning the Greek letters and their phonetic pronunciation, your children will discover how to sound out simple English words with the Greek alphabet; they will then go on to learn Greek words as well!

An Engaging Eight Week Course
The full-color workbook text is divided into eight weekly units. In just minutes a day, your children will receive a solid introduction to this fundamental language and are sure to enjoy every step of the way! This splendid book is appropriate for children ages eight to eighteen. Greek Alphabet Code Cracker contains ninety-six pages.

  • Full color, engaging workbook

  • 8 chapters, to be completed approximately one chapter per week, considering the age of the student

  • Learn all of the consonant and vowels sounds, as well as consonant blends, and diphthongs (vowel blends or combinations) by systematic, phonetic lessons

Great fun way to learn the basics October 25, 2011
Reviewer: D J from eastern Europe
Living near Greece gave my 10 year old daughter the desire to be able to read what she saw on signs when traveling.  She saw the Greek Alphabet Code Cracker on Timberdoodle and asked me to buy it for her.  Within the first week she learned the alphabet and began to put words together.  She has totally learned it all herself and really enjoys being able to read some things that her parents can't.  Very easy program to learn the basic.  I would really recommend it!

A painless introduction to the Greek language!! November 5, 2008
Reviewer: Jennifer H. from Bethany, MO
I am using "Code Cracker" with our 7 and 8 year old boys and they think it's great!  The format and information have been fun and easy to follow.  I have been "hands on" because my boys are young, but this program could easily be self-directed for an older child.  We are halfway through the book and their excitement is still strong.  We love the chant and the alphabet song--even our younger children enjoy singing the Greek alphabet!  I would heartily recommend this program for any family wanting a painless introduction to the Greek language.

This book is great! October 17, 2008
Reviewer: Penny O. from Cheyenne, WY
We are about one-third of the way through and have been using it for several weeks.  We do it along with English from the Roots up.  The material is fun and my son is eager to do even the writing portion.  The concepts are presented in a mystery/puzzle form all the way through.  In addition, a website is provided to sing the Greek alphabet.  We plan to move on to the complete Greek Bible course upon complete of this book.  A great beginning way to get your child excited about learning Greek.
