These were a fun addition to our history studies. Necessary, no. But definitely helped the kids to engage in the history they were listening to in order to understand the story of the person they were making. Each book has a figure that is colored and one that is not for each person represented - my two children alternated who did the coloring and who did not on different characters; sometimes they wanted the professionally colored one and sometimes they wanted to color so this worked out perfectly!

Fun to see historical people

My daughter enjoys these, and is getting through them faster than she did the ancient ones a few years ago (there's lots of detailed cutting involved). They work well for when we're reading. There are blank ones, in case you want to color them yourself, and pre-colored ones, which is what we've mostly used. As someone else posted, it would be nice if they were perforated, instead of needing all the cutting, but I guess you can't have everything.

Fun and hands on history

We really enjoy these booklets/activities. While I read to them from the Story of the world, they are busy assembling a person that was a key figure in the era I am reading about. It's nice that they have both the colored version and one where they get to design their own... The paper is durable enough to withstand handling, which is important with kids!

We really enjoyed this activity, but had a hard time finding the little brads to go into the product easily. Perhaps including them in the kit would be helpful! My kids enjoyed playing with the figures after they were completed.
