Sticks to Itself, Not Everything Else!
Award-winning Educational Insights PlayFoam is a perfect first sculpting material for young children, not only because of what it will do, but more importantly to busy homeschooling moms, what it won't do. PlayFoam is a very lightweight colorful substance that sticks to itself but not to your child, your carpet, or your couch.

Super Safe for Your Child
Non-toxic; non-allergenic; and gluten-, latex-, and phthalate-free, Educational Insights PlayFoam is one of the safest modeling compounds you can place in the hands of your child. And the tiny sticky foam beads never dry out, so there's no need to panic if it is forgotten on a windowsill for a few days.

Stretch, Mold, Knead, and Shape It Again and Again
Amazingly soft PlayFoam can be stretched, molded, kneaded, and shaped again and again by even the smallest of hands. Encouraging open-ended play, the unique texture of PlayFoam strengthens finger muscles so vital for your child's developing prewriting skills.

Endless Possibilities
Unlike other modeling compounds, PlayFoam can be played with in a car seat, on a plane, or at a restaurant with no negative ramifications. Shape it, cut it with scissors or a plastic knife, the possibilities are endless. Educational Insights PlayFoam comes in a set of four happy colors, and when your child inevitably mixes them together, instead of a murky brown it will look like big ball of candy sprinkles.
Non-toxic, no gluten, no protein, no worries! Conforms to ASTM D-4236

Includes 4 colors:
  • Oh Yeah Orange
  • Blooble Blue

When You Don't Have Gluten Free Play Dough January 26, 2014
    Reviewer: Carmen P.
We really enjoy Playfoam and similar items. We have a gluten/wheat intolerance which makes it difficult to find dough and play type items that are not very costly and safe for us to use. This product is safe, fun to mold, can be used with play-dough-type tools, and it never dries out or becomes cumbersome with play or cleanup. We really can't get enough of this stuff. Everyone from my 2 year old son to my 9 year old daughter enjoys playing with it.

Not for everyone January 16, 2013
    Reviewer: Haley
I got this product for my two year old, and I got the thinking putty for her four year old brother. She really prefers the thinking putty, and doesn't want to play with the foam at all. The texture really seems to bother her. SHe also hates to have her hands dirty, so it may be connected. My son likes the playfoam all right (he loves getting messy) but he prefers the thinking putty too.

Maybe we aren't creative enough January 15, 2013
    Reviewer: Mama to 5
While I love the fact the foam doesn't get stuck in stuff (carpet, clothes, etc) and is easily vacuumed up, it just didn't interest my kids that much. They liked tearing it up and basically leaving it everywhere and not so much building with it. It's so light and airy it doesn't feel like something to build with and doesn't have the appeal that some thicker, heavier stuff does. The kids didn't enjoy squishing it with their hands or flattening it, couldn't bounce it or make it drip. I can see that it has it's uses for some, but it was lost on my 4, 5 and 7 year old.

Foam All Alone January 14, 2013
    Reviewer: Seeking Truth Daily
These would be better if they came in their own container. Once they are opened to play with you have to find a bag or container to put them in. My kids did enjoy the foam, but there was only so much you could do with it and in the end they just kind of left it on the table. It can also be a bit messy when the balls get seperated.

Fun tactile manipulative January 14, 2013
    Reviewer: scrapbooking mom
This is a fun manipulative for younger kids. It is hard to keep the colors seperated because there isn't much of each one so kids want to play with more at a time, inevitably the colors get mixed. However, it's not a problem if you don't care that they mix. The foam is not sticky and it is very easily moldable. It doesn't seem to dry out so it is long-lasting. I think it is easier for smaller children to manipulate than some compounds.
